Doesn't it piss you off when people have really ignorant views / opinions?

Examples:

At my college, it would appear if you spend more than one hour a week on a games console or PC then you are a nerd, have no life, etc.

You listen to metal / rock and are instantly labelled a mosher (or by chavs; emo).

People think all fat people are lazy.

People think all black people are "gangsta".

People think that all British people "eat tea and crumpets".




I know the latter examples are stereotypes, but really, they are ignorant opinions, too.

I would like to reach out to the serious, mature side of the Loungin' members (if they exist at all) and ask you to discuss this topic.

During college holidays or weekends I usually sleep in till about 2-3pm, and my friends think this is lazy.

It apparently has nothing to do with me not being able to get to sleep until like 3-4am.

It does suck when people resort to judging complete strangers over stereotypes. I mean, play with stereotypes all you want; everyone's doing it, but don't try to pinpoint what a random person is by looking at him. Lame.

I don't mind, or even expect, people from Australia or America or even the UK to know anything about my home country, but don't presume to know things if you haven't got any facts. I don't mind the Irish stereotypes when it's obviously a joke, but seriously, when I get an American or an Australian or whoever coming up to me and telling me that "When you say you speak Irish, you mean the dialect of English that's here right? I mean there isn't an Irish language" that seriously pisses me off.

I work in a coffee shop, and your post reminded me of the ignorance the public display.

Like, I'm standing there, RIGHT BESIDE the MASSIVE cabinet of muffins, and someone goes "Where do you keep the muffins, love?" Then when I point them out, they get all irate about how they should be in a better spot.
