|
Apparently there is a very good chance that he as cancer and he is one of my best friends. I don't know what the *bleep* to do, what to say to him, and how to act. Right now he doesn't know anyone knows; his mom told me not to tell anyone. I wont know for sure until Friday, but im scared.
I'm just looking for a little advice from fellow neomembers...again. This makes my problems look like pussyshit. Edit: i'll update on friday if anyone cares. Just be with him and he'll probably open up to you and tell you he has cancer, considering you're his best friend. When he does, comfort him and help him live the remaining days of his life.

Where might he have the cancer? If you find that out, you can do some research on how often it is curable, etc.
I'd say just be with him, just in case he does. I hope he doesn't though. -------------------

Be a friend? it's not like you're a doctor or anything. Nothing you really can do to help other than being a friend and treating him normal.

TBH I'd like to know how much of a chance I got against whatever cancer it is. Besides, it could always be a really high chance of survival or it could be very easy to cure.

quote Yoshi FreakShut up. Heavy shit, man. The only advice I can give really is to just make the best of the situation. Be there for him. And just so you know, just because someone has cancer doesn't mean they will automatically die from it. Some cancers are minor and don't do anything. Some can be treated early on. -------------------

Don't treat him any differently. Just act like it isn't there, and make sure he knows that you are still his best friend. Honestly, the worst thing you can do is make this a whole mushy, teary kind of thing. Trust me, it's much better if you don't make it a huge part of anything.
EDIT: Sure, it's a big deal, just don't act like it's his last day to live. -------------------

quote DisenchantedThere aren't that many cases of fatal cancer. Pancreatic and lung cancer are the two most lethal, i think. Pancreatic being worse. These days there is a lot of treatment available, and there is always treatment. Cancer clinics everywhere ------------------- "With success, come trials. With trials, success."

If they have cancer, try to spend time with them and make them happy. Having close relatives/friends with cancer sucks.
