Writing an article |
|
And I'm not sure how to signify a TV show title, do I underline it once and then never again in the article?

Just make it apparent once and then you never have to deal with it again. In other words, yes, or bold it.

Italicise it whenever you mention it.

It's the way Elle magazine does it. They italicise the main point of the article like in their interview with The Killers.

re: Writing an article |

You either italicize or underline the title, never both. Pick one and stick with it throughout your article.

You really are Teri.
Tbh, it really depends on what type of article you're writing. Can you give me a bit of info on what it's about/what it's for? -------------------

I'm pretty sure you are supposed to italicize it each time.

It's for my school newspaper, so the editor will probably fix it if it's wrong, I just don't wanna look like a complete moron, I'm 16 I should know this stuff by now. I even am taking two english based classes.

quote JeshThe proper way to format the title of a movie/book/podcast would be to either italicize or underline the title throughout the entire document. Mixing the two looks unprofessional. -------------------

re: Writing an article |

italicise the word, i often find that underlining makes the article look messy. Also try to avoid using the name too often, if you are contastantly repeating the title then there's a chance your article wont read as well and the piece's flow will be stunted

re: Writing an article |

I don't see the point of using it all the time. When writing wiki articles (JUST as an example) I bold the word once so the readers know it's a key word. From there on they don't really need it pointed out to them to know that it's a key word.
EDIT: ^^^^^ No butter. -------------------

Whenever you reference a book it should be underlined so I'm not sure what it would be for other things.
Never rely on the editor though, my school newspaper and many professional magazines have so many simple errors :/ Relm, key words are different just like links ------------------- ![]()
