You can have all the qualifications you want but they don't mean a thing if you don't know how to act around people. ------------------- ![]()

quote U_TurnWell if that's what the OP meant then it's obviously one sided. If the cool kid also has a high intelligence, then obviously he/she would be the better choice. I'm basing it off that the popular kid is just cool and popular and has shit for common sense and logic while the clever kid has intelligence but can socialize for his life. -------------------

Definitely a cool kid, I don't want some little bitch running up to me and bawling about why they don't have any friends.

Uh.. for a change, I won't assume that the cool kid will end up working at McDonalds or in a ditch after a car crash with his drunk friends.
Cool kids can be clever in some aspects, way I see it clever =/= intelligent. I'd like a cool kid, but I'd press hard on him so he gets good grades. ------------------- ![]() ![]()

If it's one extreme or the other, then I want my heir to be clever. He can make enough money with his mind and then buy friends if he's lacking in them.

re: Would you rather have a cool kid or a clever kid? |
quote Hera No, you're cheating. You're giving the intelligent kid the added advantage of social skills but neglecting the popular kid of intelligence. You can't choose that. The options are stupidity but popular or intelligent and socially inept. We'd all choose both but those aren't the options. ------------------- Ron says: I just drink to a point where everything makes me laugh Ron says: once something stops being funny, I drink more

re: Would you rather have a cool kid or a clever kid? |
quote U_Turn We weren't given much info in the first place. I'm going off what the OP said (right now) and the choices were a cool kid (someone who was popular and could socialize easier) and the clever kid (someone who had no friends and couldn't socialize at all) and by going off that it's obvious who people would choose. We can't choose because we don't know if the popular kid is smart or anything, were just given the barebone's. -------------------

A clever kid. I don't want to have a cool kid who is actually a complete retard and will fail at life. I'll be prouder of the kid who actually finds success and makes me proud.

I guess clever is probably the way to go. That said, he's gotta have some good social skills, don't want a kid that everyone makes fun of or is miserable and without friends, that's just sad.
