	I'd just prefer a kid that could socialise, them being cool doesn't matter. You can have all the qualifications you want but they don't mean a thing if you don't know how to act around people. -------------------

	Uh.. for a change, I won't assume that the cool kid will end up working at McDonalds or in a ditch after a car crash with his drunk friends. Cool kids can be clever in some aspects, way I see it clever =/= intelligent. I'd like a cool kid, but I'd press hard on him so he gets good grades. -------------------

You're giving the intelligent kid the added advantage of social skills but neglecting the popular kid of intelligence. You can't choose that. The options are stupidity but popular or intelligent and socially inept. I'm going off what the OP said (right now) and the choices were a cool kid (someone who was popular and could socialize easier) and the clever kid (someone who had no friends and couldn't socialize at all) and by going off that it's obvious who people would choose. 	I guess clever is probably the way to go. That said, he's gotta have some good social skills, don't want a kid that everyone makes fun of or is miserable and without friends, that's just sad.
