Putting the word out |
|
Last night, I caught Michael Moore in a show(The Hour with George S., who's with me) and he was the interview guest, and he was asked a bunch of questions about the aftermath of his work. For those who don't know, Moore is the guy who has produced documentaries such as Fahrenheit 9/11 and Sicko. They were actually promoting his upcoming one, which hits theatres tomorrow, Capitalism: A Love Story.
But anyway, he was asked about his tribulations following his films, especially 9/11, and Moore talked about how he got lambasted from so many sides after this. He tells stories about how he got hot coffee thrown in his face just walking down the street, as well as an incident where his home got vandalized, and I mean vandalized(things broken, feces on the wall, words on the wall, etc). He also talked about how his dad was very saddened at the fact that just a man speaking his opinion can lead to this. Most interesting is Michael later states that had he known all of this would happen, he probably wouldn't have gone through with any of it. This thread isn't really about Michael Moore, although you can discuss things about him if you wish, I guess. My main point of this thread is to ask you people.. do you ever think one day to go as far as to state some of your cherished opinions this way? How would you react to this kind of "feedback"? Obviously, it depends on the opinions, but generally if you had to "put the word out" about something you feel is quite neglected, would you go ahead with it? What exactly did he say about 9/11 that the public didn't like?

Well I haven't watched it, but there was no doubt he's forwarded some conflicting opinions and whatnot. All I know is the obvious part, fact that he was quite anti-Bush.
