You know most people say "Well it can't be proven, so it doesn't make a sound."
Well, that made me think. I don't hear what happens in Japan, Antartica, South America etc. So how do I know anything is happeneing on this planet outside of my dwelling place? Hmm very interesting indeed. Everything could be a lie outside of my town using that idea/theory. But is it likely? No, although I bet alot of it is twisted (media etc, whole different topic) But I believe that proves my theory that fallen trees do make a sound, even if nobody is there to hear it. What if a deaf man is sitting next to it, whom is sitting by a blind man? | ||

The falling tree would make sound waves. Naturally, there would be a sound, but since there is no one to pick up the sound waves, it's technically not a sound. Our ears pick up the waves, which is what creates the sound we hear.

If I post in Two Colors... but we're all color blind is it really two colors? Anyway... About the thread, the tree falling would still make a sound regardless if anyone can hear it... my opinion, then again like some have mentioned it depends on whether its only considered a sound if somebody hears it... ------------------- [/Two Colors]

The thing about the tree falling? There are two definitions of sound, each leading to one of the two answers.
