Is it Animal Cruelty? |
|
Alright, so I have this neighbor, and they're cool and all. They don't bother us we don't bother them. But, they have these dogs. The first one that they had was alright. Every now and then he would come to our lawn and just play around with our cat. Our cat didn't like it, cause it looked like she wanted to bring hell to the thing, but we didn't mind. It was entertaining. Now, they got another dog. Thing is though, this new dog won't shut the *bleep* up. I swear to god, the only time it's quiet is when it's sleeping. I got outside, this *bleep*er is barking at me non stop and the only way it'll shut up is if I go inside.
Well, I had enough of that damn dog because every now and then I got things to do outside. Mow the lawn, picks some stuff up, carry some stuff for my dad. You know, it's just stuff I do with every day, and I just can't put up with that damn dog. It's getting on my nerves now. So, I'm thinking of buying one of them dog whistles. That way, it can shut the hell up and know not to bark at me. I mean, for *bleep*'s sake, I'm not doing anything to it, I'm just minding my own business. So, do you guys think this'll count as animal cruelty? Or do you guys have a better alternative? -------------------

Nope. Animals are stupid and negative reinforcement is sometimes the only way to get them to do what you need. A little bit of discomfort won't cause the dog any long-term harm. It's not like you're beating it.

I doubt blowing a whistle falls under the catagory of animal cruelty. xD

Hey man, I'm just taking some precautions in case my neighbors go apeshit crazy. Seriously, they got this kid that's over protective with their dogs. I would too, I mean, if it were my pet, but they don't train them and it's annoying.
quote SmvsrawpersonI know that's animal cruelty. And the chances of me doing that without my neighbor's seeing me is very slim. They're there 24/ and there's a fence separating us. So, I have to climb it and I'm lazy. =D -------------------

Blowing a dog whistle would not harm it in any way. Therefore, it's not animal cruelty.

Even parents resort to corporal punishment for their children. I don't see a problem with it.

Whistles hurt the dog's ears. If you blow the whistle too much, he'll mentally blow up.

Won't the dog be more of a pain when you blow that whistle? I remember we had one, and if it was blown, the dog would go crazy.

quote brownsrockTo be honest, that would give me infinite entertainment. I would just stand by the kitchen window and blow that mofo and watch them go mad. -------------------

Why is he barking constantly in the first place? If he just stays in the garden 24/7, then that is animal cruelty.

You should buy your own dog and let it kill your neighbors.

Yeah man, my next-door neighbours dog barks all the time, INSIDE THEIR HOUSE. All you hear from 7 am to 2 am the next day is "WOOF WOOF WOOF WOOF WOOF WOOF WOOF WOOF WOOF WOOF"
over and over and over. When the dog is barking like mad I put my guitar amp to the wall, put some headphones on and raise the volume to max, and just slam the strings really hard. Makes a massive noise that shuts it up. ------------------- ![]()

quote Kevin I laughed, what a great debate we had there xD Anywho, dogs that don't shut up should be taken care of by their masters, but since these people seem lazy. I don't see how buying a whisle and taking matters into your own hands is a problem. Your not hurting the dog in any way he hasn't hurt you; loud annoying noise. When I hear dogs start barking (I live out in the middle of nowhere, and everyone seems to have dogs), I just yell "SHUT UP!" which usally works, even for my own dogs... Edit: Your =/= You're, shut up, I noticed it. Damn grammar beast >_>; ------------------- ![]()

I don't understand why anyone would want a big stupid dog that barks all the time. Aren't your neighbors annoyed by his constant barking? Cats ftw
