"Problems" are the driving force of civilization. Not enough food? People work to get some. Somebody sick? People work to find a cure and/or remedy it.

It's what makes the world go round.

If there weren't so many jobs, and so much need for money, we would probably still be backing off of precious metals instead of paper.

In an ideal society, money wouldn't really be needed. But people feel the need to be compensated for the back-breaking work they've done for the past 8 hours. I sure as hell would.

Imagine illness and sickness gone. Hospitals would be out of business because of no more sickness, or mental illness. That's good right?

Well maybe not. What about the nurses, doctors, and the plumber who works on the building? The electricians and Carpenters who put he building together? It's sad that so many people wouldn't be able to feed themselves if it wasn't for the misfortune of others.

You must understand it's their meal ticket. How could the economy survive or last if a large fraction of the income is gone? What good is a therapist if there's nobody that's mentally ill? What can they do? They can't build a house, fly a plane, or make clothing. It's really a waste.

One example, this is why we'll never have free energy on a massive scale (like Nikola Tesla invisioned), what would be done with all the gas stations? Power lines? All the companies that would be taken out of business? Thousands of jobs lost. We have come to a technological stand still where only the military progresses forward. Because unlike the system, it's only used to beat the competition and isn't depended on itself for pure survival. It's survival lies on the economy and taxes.

People live longer = More taxes paid, the longer you live the more chances you'll encounter sickness which means more medicine consumed that results in the pharmaceutical companies getting rich.

It's one huge nest with endless loops.

What do you think?

Our current economy is merely structured around the world's problems. An economic system in and of itself doesn't depend on a world full of sick people. For example, doctors are incredibly intelligent people that would no doubt be employed in another highly useful and demanding profession if there were no hospitals to employ them.

re: How the world's "problems" benefit humanity.

We've learned to make a positive out of our problems, but that doesn't mean it benefits humanity. It only benefits one part of a society. But what of the other part of society, the part that's experiencing the problems? It's unfair for them.

With no disease, we all have equal gain.

It's not like what I say matters. It's just a point. As for the first post/reply, who would watch over the creation of these robots? Or make sure everything is maintained?

Those people wouldn't want to do it for free while everybody else just enjoys it. But whateves.

It's taken me a while to come up with a valid reply for this, but here goes:
