Informed Voting |
|
A few days ago my city held elections for Mayor, Alderman, and City Council. As I was exiting the polls I overheard someone say "I hope I didn't vote for a black person by accident."
When you vote, do you educate yourself on the candidates and issues, do you choose whoever you've seen the most on T.V. and seen the most signs for, or do you just choose random people or whatever names are familiar to you? ------------------- Skateboarding Thread

I tend to educate myself about the issues and what the candidates stand for. I then decide which is the lesser of two evils and vote for them.
My sister on the other hand, always steals my answers when voting. She cannot be bothered to find out anything, so she asks me who she should vote for, since I stay current on the issues.

I haven't actually voted yet, but the general election is next year so I'll likely vote in that.
I have a basic level of understanding from the 2 years of politics I did at A level, so I will be making my choice based off of policies and ideologies rather than picking at random. At the end of the day, there's not really any point in voting unless you know exactly what you're voting for.
