quote DevastateActually, I think that it's better that he survived because once he gets healthy, he will be interviewed by investigators who will be trying to piece all of this together. If he had died, those stories would have died with him because dead men tell no tales. I hope that they get to the bottom of this as soon as possible.

Although an alarming incident, I'd like to say that people in the military are going there because they know of the risk involved in serving in the military. Just saying.

*facepalm*
Dude, do you not realise that at least a few of the people shot by that PRICK were NOT military at all, but rather civilians living on the base? Also, even if you do join the army you don't expect to get shot by your own side... well, not on purpose anyway. What's rather strange about this story is how many different versions I've heard already. They put one on the Radio in the UK today saying that the guy who did the shooting was a DOCTOR. And did the shooting in the clinic when civilians were queuing up for vaccinations. Yet the day before they said it was a soldier and he shot up the administration building. They've also said that it was actually 3 guys, that they've somehow lost one of them and not caught him, that they've killed one of them, but oh wait, no they didn't after all... Noone seems to know what's going on. -------------------

Actually, yes they did win WW1, without them the Germans could have probably won, because of American involvement it was practically impossible for the Germans to win.
Also, the French did not win the War of Independence. The British were screwed either way, they could win as many battles as they wanted, but as soon as they left the Americans would reclaim, there was no way, other than destroying the entire American army, the British could have won. With or without the French in the war. ------------------- Now, McGinlay. Andy Walker's in the middle. GO ONN...McGinlay...Andy Walker! YEEES! Andy Walker, Bolton two Liverpool nil! Okay, it seems this thread has gotten just a little bit derailed. I heard about this story yesterday, but only actually read about it today.
One article I read seemed to portray it rather neutrally, despite only giving a passing mention to why the guy did it. Another made the shooter seem like a militant islamic extremist, which the other article seemed to indicate he was not. So, I'm trying to figure out which is true. Was this man an extremist muslim terrorist who somehow got into the military and remained in until just before he was to be deployed before killing people in an act of premeditated terrorism? Or was he a normal man who suffered harassment from the other soldiers to the point that he tried to get out of the military before snapping? I mean, both stories did say that he was a Muslim, but in the former there is no indication of any of the extremism of Islamic terrorists. The latter, on the other hand, sounds like the sort of thing Bill O'Reilly or Rush Limbaugh would say. ------------------- ![]() Signature by Hellbully.

re: 11/5/09 - A Sad Day |
quote ssjgotenThe Soviets performed awfully in World War II. They used strength in numbers to fight of the Germans. Not only that, the Nazis advanced unacceptably deep into the U.S.S.R., before the tide turned at Stalingrad. The amount of loss suffered by the the Soviets hardly amounted to a victory. If not for the Western Allies, America and Britain, they would have been crushed. Also, Americans did the majority of the fighting against Japan and won. The Revolutionary War was Americans against some Americans, yes, but mostly English and Hessians. Although, the French helped us win that war and the War of 1812, indirectly. ------------------- ![]() Former Rome
