I don't think you're using AVG right. I think when AVG does a scheduled scan, it only passively scans, and doesn't do anything intensive. To do a full AVG scan, you have to open the AVG interface, go to tools, and do a computer scan.

My AVG never finds anything on scheduled scans. All my infections are found during full scans.
