Take a classic approach. If she won't give it back, cut off the dogs head and put it in her bed.

Well he came over like "hey do you mind if i take the dog for a walk?" and we just let him since it seemed completely harmless because people quite often ask to take the dog out >>

Legally, the dog isn't yours because there is no paper work. There isn't really much you can do because the dog has no paper work. You could call the cops, but it would probably be ineffective and a waste of time.
I can't even imagine how it is for you though. I couldn't handle losing my mini dachshund. She is the best dog I've ever had, and even though it's been a pain in the butt to train her, it's worth it in the end. Good Luck with trying to get your dog back! ------------------- | |
