quote DevilDogDaveNot true. One guy had a seizure and fell unto subway train track, like this woman, seconds before the oncoming train was about to hit. A bystander jumped down and held the thrusting and rolling man still and flat while the train passed over, leaving both of them unharmed. I was surprised that the trained stopped like it did. I thought it was going to pass over her too, but they sure were on top of things. ------------------- ![]() Former Rome

Man what, you think people should never catch a train while drunk because this might but most probably will never happen?
That's ridiculous, people get trains while drunk all the time on a regular basis and none of them get hit by trains because tbh if they're this drunk they usually collapse in a gutter or get a taxi. ------------------- ![]()

quote Rome Uh huh, and if they moved wrong they'd have been fried by the current in those tracks...Subways are different than regular trains. They should really put those metal bar fences in the subway and fenced doors. That would prevent all the suicide and idiotic deaths like this.

quote TakiThat is correct. The larger the object that is in motion, the more effort that is needed to bring said object to a stop. It's a fairly simple law of physics. I got some more info on this just by looking around online. This happened on the Orange Line's Inbound platform at North Station on Friday Night. Those involved in bringing the train to a stop are being hailed as heroes, and not just the operator--apparently the passengers who were waiving the train to stop are getting the hail of a hero as well. quote Lando Calrissian ------------------- Proving people wrong about Asperger's Syndrome since 1985, and will continue to do so as long as I live. This is why emergency brakes were invented--for this exact reason. The MBTA has enough financial problems on their hands as it is. The last thing they needed was an accidental death on their hands, which was literally inches away from happening.
Wouldn't be surprised to see this on Most Shocking when the new season begins in January on TruTV because this was definitely a "Most Shocking" type of moment. ------------------- Proving people wrong about Asperger's Syndrome since 1985, and will continue to do so as long as I live. quote TakiNot necessarily. I mean, it's a big freaking train, but I take the T all around Boston and they don't really move that fast. And most of them ((depends on the conductor)) start moving slower as you approach the platform, probably for reasons like this :\ ------------------- ![]() This is Jeffrey; he's a dragon.
