	Like I said, the reason that Lee Boyd Malvo was spared the execution chamber is because of his cooperation with the authorities in the prosecution of the DC Beltway Sniper. But as was reported earlier, John Allen Muhammad, the mastermind behind the Beltway Sniper shootings, was pronounced dead @ 9:11 PM EST. Source I can't believe that he didn't offer any last words or final statements, let alone acknoledge that he was even asked to give a last statement. 	Eh, at least he got a fair trial. Can't really complain then I guess, justice is served. And CupsOfSauce, his confession may have been the strongest evidence the prosecution had, without him I doubt they would have made a strong enough case. 	Case? If the cops did their jobs both of them would of been dead upon finding them. All they'd have to say was that they had a weapon (which is true). 	I remember following this case when I was younger. Personally I don't believe serial killers should be executed. 	I live in Waldorf, MD, about 30 minutes south of D.C. I have to say that I was extremely happy when they executed Muhammad. I lived in terror for three weeks, thinking that I would come home from school to find the cops on my doorstep to tell me that my mother or father had died. My father works in D.C., and my mother has consultations all over the Metro area. If I had had champagne on hand, I would have been toasting his death while singing "God Bless America." What pisses me off is that Malvo could be--and was--tried as an adult but could not be given the death sentence because the Supreme Court says it's unconstitutional to sentence a minor to death. Same goes for that 15-year-old out of MO who bragged about not getting the death sentence if he killed someone, went out and killed someone, and bragged about it again. He didn't--or won't--get the death sentence either. I say if they were cognizant of the crime, planned it out, and can be tried as an adult, they deserve to be sentenced as an adult.

Tim Kaine had denied him his pardon, he was going to die, and he was unrepentant because he thought he was doing what Allah wanted him to. Anything he had to say would have been useless or an outright lie. There is no one who would believe him if he said, "I'm sorry." He might have been off in lala-land, you never know.
