Neoseeker, are you serious? |
|
There are some things that just amaze me, and the mindset of most of the members on this site is definitely one of them.
What is a newb? A noob? A n00b? A nub? Is there really any point in calling somebody a noob? Does it really make you feel any better about yourself? Moreover, what's with this craze about being an "oldie"? I can't believe this battle of the "oldies" pointing out every "noob" they see and making sure that they successfully call them on every 'mistake' they make? Seriously? I recently started browsing Neo again out of sheer boredom and everywhere I turn there is somebody trying to be a goddamn e-bad ass. Because let's face it, calling somebody out for their spelling mistake on a forum doesn't really qualify you as a bad ass in real life. What does make you a baddass though is posting a picture of yourself with a hot girl in the photo album, or one of you drinking at the club with the homies. And if you don't have a picture to show, you can at least talk about drinking and finally making it to third base with your lady. Does anybody else just laugh when they see crap like this? I don't understand why people need to validate themselves here. So tell me, what's the deal? Is everybody just trying to become... what do they call it? A "neo-celebrity"? Does it really make you proud of yourself to be able to be the one to point out the pointlessness of a thread? I'd just like to understand what the hell could be going on in everybody's head to make you act like this? So please, explain. And spare me the "if you don't like the way things are, then just leave" speech. As I said I come to Neo occasionally to kill time. I'm not trying to "flame" the way things are, I'd simply like to know why they are that way. -------------------

I realize that it's a forum, but this kind of attitude doesn't just happen here. It's on Xbox live when everybody talks about "pwning some nub". Same thing with games like Warcraft.
It's a simple question. Why do so many people act like that? -------------------

Hang on, I can really feel for this guy. I myself am a victim of whatever they are saying. It really strays me away from Neo.

You know, I agree. Acting noobish can be funny at first. But then it just gets old after awhile. It's just not funny anymore. The oldie thing is just idiotic. People have been suggesting that you need to be an oldie in order to not be a "noob" Like, some people call me a "04 noob" and I'm just sick of it. Come on people, not everything is about popularity.

It is an ego trip and the fad the every one loves. Like bragging rights.
I really don't hear people going around too often using those terms towards people on xboxlive nor in the PC multiplayer games I play. Typically when used it is in all good play and rarely ever delivered towards someone with actual meaning. Simple trolling really. ------------------- ![]()

I think a lot of the people who try to act badass on the internet are the same that are anti social in real life. So basically, a lot of people are compensating for not having much of a social life. And also, some people are just assholes.

This would be the end of the evolution of a forum. People accept they're somewhat "outcasts", and throw out their decency into antisocial behavior.
Which I'm going to have to admit, is kind of funny when you're behind the scenes, but if you're ever in the crossfire, it's just highly annoying. And yeah, the oldie thing, blech. I don't think you've been around for a few years. How's your stay so far besides complaints? Any improvements?

This is the most pointless thread I've seen in a looooong time.
Nah, just kidding, it's a rather interesting topic. People just don't have better things to do with their lives. Take Stuy for example, she's home schooled, so I'm presuming she doesn't have any real friends nor a good social life, so she doesn't have anything better to do with her life than to *bleep* around and create a million accounts on this site and acting as a male with one account and a female with another, being deceitful, ect. ect.. So she's pretty much compensating for not having much of a social life. ------------------- BEST GAME EVER °º¤ø„¸¨°º¤ø„¸¸„ø¤º°¨¸„ø¤º°¨

My stay? Total flashback. All of this stuff was around a few years ago but it's just taken to an extreme now and I find it humorous.
Maybe it's just the few people that I know that play Xbox that act like that. It's like a hardcore testosterone battle or something... -------------------
