Professional Tips (for Wii)
|
MONEY TIPS
1) DO NOT buy any weapons, except the Red9, Semi-Auto Rifle, and the Striker. 2) DO NOT upgrade any weapons, except the weapons that I listed above. This means you should not upgrade your starting weapons. 3) Make sure you collect all the treasure, and kill all crows you encounter. 4) Don't shoot any ganados into water/lava, this prevents you from gaining their spoils. 5) Make sure you collect the free Broken Butterfly in the castle. 6) Make sure you sell the free+already-upgraded Punisher that you receive from the Merchant for completing the Blue Medallion quest. 7) Make sure you kill Verudgo (after freezing him with the liquid nitrogen) with the free Rocket Launcher that you get in the castle. 8) Make sure you kill all Regenerators that you encounter in the Island part of the game, and the Dr Salvadors in the Village, as they provide considerable cash rewards. 9) Sell all TMP ammo. You don't need it.
WEAPON TIPS
1) When facing a crowd of enemies in a corridor-like area, try and herd them into one spot, by either shooting them in the legs, or knocking them down with the shotgun. Then proceed to throw a Incendiary Grenade, or just a regular Grenade. 2) When encountering a single Ganado, shoot him in the leg, then proceed to knife him until death. Alternately, you can wait until he tries to attack you, then step back, let him miss, then knife him in the legs. 3) Don't ever throw away grenades. They will save you endless amounts of ammo when dealing with crowds. Flash grenades are essential for dealing with all variants of head-Plaga. 4) Remember, you do need the Striker. The exclusive upgrade gives you 100 shotgun rounds for it, allowing you to rely on it for Ganado-control for the rest of the Island stage. 5) Before the final boss fight (Saddler), sell your Semi-Auto Rifle, as you don't need it anymore. Use the money to buy the TMP, then fully upgrade it, with stock included. It is extremely useful for hitting Saddlers "leg-eyeballs". 6) You should have enough money to purchase 4 Rocket Launchers by the time you've fully upgraded all your weapons at the Island. Don't hesitate to use these on U-3, Krauser, and Saddler. 7) If you're playing the Wii Version of the game, you should have realized that your Pistol is now effectively a rifle, too. Unless you have Parkinson's Disease, your aim should be steady enough to snipe enemies at any distance. Use this to your advantage, particularly during the "cable car" fight, and when defending Ashley while she turns the cranks in the Castle. 8) Only use the Semi-Auto rifle on Head-Plaga (when you have no other choice), J.J.'s, and Regenerators. Ammo is rather scarce for this weapon.
BOSS TIPS
1) As stated above, the last 3 bosses of the game can be dealt with easily by using Rocket Launchers. 2) Mendez will most likely give you the most trouble. So, as soon as you beat the Lake-Monster, start hoarding Incendiary and regular Grenades, as these will be essential to defeating Mendez with little or no health loss. When the battle begins, just simply keep spamming him with grenades, until he mutates into the "monkey-Mendez". Then, shotgun him to the ground and continue grenade-spamming him. He'll die before you run out of grenades. Promise. 3) The first El Gigante can only really be defeated with skill. Sorry. An easy battle, nonetheless. 4) The second El Gigante can be defeated easily by telling Ashley to "wait" ASAP. If she's wearing her knight armour, then El Gigante will keep trying to kill her, yet will do no damage. So, shoot the boulder onto his head, then kill him at your leisure. 5) The third "twin Gigante's" can be easily defeated by using the same tactics you always do. 6) U-3 is a pain in the "cage" part of the battle. Just use your exclusively-upgraded Striker to shoo him away. 7) Verudgo is easy. Rocket-Launcher him in the face when he's frozen. 8) Only engage Krauser in knife combat when he's up close, as the knife does amazing damage to him. Shoot him in the face when he's throwing grenades, or shooting at you. When the real battle begins, just shoot his leg with a Broken Butterfly, then Rocket him in his attractive face. 9) All other bosses are self-explanatory.
OTHER TIPS
1) Make sure you are using Costume Set 2. You'll have a way easier time if Ashley is invincible. 2) Also, feel free to use Ashley as "bait" for unruly Ganados. They can't pick her up, or hurt her, but they'll certainly be persistent. Use their confusion to pop a few heads.

1) DO NOT buy any weapons, except the Red9, Semi-Auto Rifle, and the Striker. Why not? The blacktail is a pretty good handgun. quote seasong
9) Sell all TMP ammo. You don't need it. The TMP may not be a good weapon but its still helpful. quote seasong
4) The second El Gigante can be defeated easily by telling Ashley to "wait" ASAP. If she's wearing her knight armour, then El Gigante will keep trying to kill her, yet will do no damage. So, shoot the boulder onto his head, then kill him at your leisure. The El Gigante won't all ways attack her. After a while he'll turn to you. You don't have to kill him, just distract him so you can grab everything. Other than that good tips.

I have a tip for el gigante..
when you shoot him and the plaga comes up run up to him and you can cut it with your knife, and you only have to do that 2 times instead of shooting whereas that takes like 3 times..

Red9 is better for conserving ammo in my opinion, especially in Pro Mode. It's logical, if the enemies have higher HP, you should use a higher powered gun to compensate.
The TMP is a great gun in its own right, sure, but it's not needed. Also, if bought, it would leave you with too many guns, and not enough money to buy 3 Rocket Launchers at the end.
Killing El Gigante isn't needed, but the money he gives you makes it well worth it. It's a particularly easy fight too, due to him being distracted with Ashley.

I disagree. The TMP kicks ass. I killed Salazar using that and only about 100 bullets.

Also, if bought, it would leave you with too many guns, and not enough money to buy 3 Rocket Launchers at the end. You don't really need 3 rocket launchers,2 at the most. One for IT and another for Krauser.

Why is this here? Shouldn't this be in the Wii version board?

It does if you shoot him in the leg with a magnum, then quickly rocket him in the face.

Is there a need? I going all the way with knife against him and dodge the grenades only... Rocket launcher is imba and it spoil the gameplay.

RED 9 is going to deplete your ammo in PRO mode, Island phase. Exclusive hand gun OWNS all the way. It care less whether is head or Las Plagas. Just Critical It!!!
