i'd agree. unfortunately i made the grave mistake of asking for advice on res 4 and not realising that there was such a divide between ps2 and gamecube users.

nah, i didn't mean it to be like that, but if they need help, i mean common the ada story line isn't in the GC version, at least ask the questions GC version owners can answer, it's common sense.

re: Boss General Help Thread

here are the ways i beat some of the battles/bosses

for the battle w/ Luis in the cabin-

first off, block all the windows and then grab all the the items from upstiars. wait on the bottom of the steps and shoot the ganados coming through the windows. When you hear the ladders crashing through the windows run upstairs and knock them down.UR MAIN FOUCUS SHOULD ALWAYS BE THE LADDERS. shoot the ganados coming up the stairs but keep an eye on those windows. If you can keep the top floor from getting over run by ganado, you will win. All i used for this fight was one of my hand s, a shot , and a .

hope this helps, i'll be posting more later.

One thing about blocking the windows: it doesn't help if the wooden bords aren't destroyed yet. The closets will get destroyed along with them ! Only use the closets after they've broken the boards.

re: Boss General Help Thread

ok more tips.

2nd encounter with el gingante(the giant)-

b4 the battle even begins, use a scoped to shoot off the chains on the first door, then run to it. The gaint will come out from behind. shoot the boulder Ashly points out to have it fall on him. go through the first door where you'll see some huts.ignore these and knock the chains off the 2nd door. At this point the gaint will be close behind. wait for him to smash through the huts(one of them contains a key) then stun him w/ a flash and grab the key. run back to the 2nd door and run to the end of the level.

re: Boss General Help Thread

I heard that you can beat Krauser when you stab him 10 times.... how do you do that? Does it hurt him more when you stab him, does it hurt him more than when you shoot him?

Also, I faught "it" may times before, and I wasted alot of ammo when I'm escaping from that cage thing. I have to fight him afterwards too. So does he get hurt when I shoot him when hes on the cage, or is it only when your both on land.

Yeah, shooting 'IT' in the cage only makes him go away on top o0f tha crates and leaving you alone for a while. I've tried, trust me, with Handcannon and even with infinite rocket launcher!

re: Boss General Help Thread

There's a merchant before that right? Maybe you could upgrade the capacity of your weapons, though if you're low on ammo here then you're in serious trouble.

For the first part of this "IT" fight (I assume this is what you're on about) don't bother shooting IT, as this is using up that valuable ammo. Here's a good guide to that part:

quote Insanity Prevails' Walkthrough
Go right (back to doorway) and shoot out the green light to open the gate. Activate the console.
Go back the other way, doing your best to avoid the boss. If you get hurt then heal quickly. Grab
the ammo at the second turning if you dare. Go left at the fork and get ready to shoot out a
green light to open the next gate. Run past the large gate and activate the console. Now go back
to that large gate and go through, before time runs out.
There's an item to to right. At some point a cutscene will announce the boss's return to play.
You didn't think it was that easy did you? Go right, then right again. Shoot out the green light
and activate the console further on. Turn around, run past the boss (if he's there) and shoot
out the next green light. Go left at the turning past the gate and activate the next console.
Now turn and run. Go straight on and through the large gate. Almost there.
Activate the nearby console. This will cause the boss to return and take on a more hideous
and dangerous form. Nearby is an enclosed corrider. Use it (but don't stopping running). Go left
and follow it to the end. Shoot out the green light from here. Now backtrack round to that
corrider and go through. Go right from here and activate the last console. Now quickly get to
the gate and open it, then jump for the crane.
Throughout the chase button reaction moments will keep jumping in, allowing you to dodge
most of the damage.
At the end of the first part you'll get some ammo supplies ready for the second part. I'll leave it there for you.

re: Boss General Help Thread

The only bosses/sub-bosses you may have problems with (aside from those caused by wastefulness on your part) is the Gigante on the right path. You can deal with the battle two ways.

1) Fight him. Shoot the scaffold supporting the boulder to knock it down, causing some easy damage and giving you a bit more time. Not only do you have to watch yourself, you have to be aware of Ashley as she is quite frail. When he gets close, use a flashbang to stun him. Attack and repeat.

2) If you dont happen to have a flashbang I suggest you run. Once again shoot the scaffold to buy you some time. Continue to the chained door and use your knife to hasten the process of breaking the chains. Keep running, following the same process until your safe.

All the bosses are so easy in this game. Even I had no problem with them. All you have to do be good with the action commands. A little strategy doesn't hurt either. The biggest problem you might (and should if any) is having a bit or a shortage of ammunition. I can't offer much advice on this particular problem because I never had to worry about it. Take these words to heart:

If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.
- Sun Tzu

re: Boss General Help Thread

All the boss's and sub bosses in the village area can be easily be defeated with a handgun!

In the Castle, most can be defeated with a handgun, but use a rocket launcher on Verdugo.

In the Island level, use your strongest weapon (broken butterfly/magnum) on the bosses!
