I have a quite helpful tip for when you're fighting El Gigante (or just running from him) down the narrow valley. Before you go too far into the screen in the valley and trigger the cinema for El Gigante to enter, whip out your rifle and shoot all 3 of the chains off the door so you can run through faster.

I always have trouble with the El Gigantes.

Use the regular left thumbstick to move around, that's pretty easy to accomplish. Pull it all the way left or all the way right to avoid hitting the tree trunks in the water. When you have a clear path, lift up a harpoon and throw it at the creature.
If you do happen to get knocked out your boat then obviously just swim quickly to get back, it's not difficult at all.
Harpoon the creature as often as you can when you're being towed by it, those are the easiest times to hit it. Always stay VERY WIDE to avoid the debris (emphasizing these two points again).
Whe nthe boat is standing still and the creature is coming for you, look around fast to make sure you know where it is coming from. Then do not throw the harpoon immediately, but rather WAIT until you can see it opening its mouth. Once it's close enough, throw the harpoon into the monsters mouth and it should dive underwater without crashing into you. Don't leave this too late or it will still crash into you anyway.

To sum up: Stay wide, harpoon it while in tow, and aim for the mouth when still. That should get you through it easily...

I was about to ask the same question also for this. I'm stuck at the same part right now. It's pissing me off, lol. Every two or three times I'm knocked off the boat I'm fish food. Well, let me try this out.

Thanks. That's where I was. I tried using the sniper rifle once before, but couldn't see 'em. Man, you'd be SOL if you didn't buy a rifle..

EDIT: I just tried it and I still can't see them over the spinny blades. I have to run first and get ammo, then run back, so it gives me like a ten second window.

EDIT 2: Ah, they're sitting up higher than I thought. And I still didn't use the sniper! Just the trusty Punisher. That and the Shotgun are pretty much all i've used throughout the game


Since you guys helped me, I figure i'll help back a little bit. I see a ton of people talking about the "IT" guy, which i'm assuming is the wolverine thing. In all actuality, this guy is one of the easiest things in the game. He's not a boss, though. If you noticed in the prison, there were bells. He's distracted by noise. In the prison, all you had to do was shoot the bell, and when he would run over to it, unload into his back. Same thing with the cage. When the cage fell, I threw a flash grenade. He walked to where it exploded, and I unloaded a round in his back.

For the lake monster.. just keep harpooning. That's about the only advice there is to give. In his mouth when you can, anywhere else all the other times.

Anyone else need some help? The only boss i've died at is the guy who like.. sprouts up. The guy in the barn. I died twice on him, then just grenaded the hell out of him. Flash grenades come in VERY handy, you guys should hang on to them when you get them.

Its on disk 2 he is easy to kill but at frist you might not know what to do..

Yeah, so now i'm stuck at midget man's "right hand man", the guy that swipes from above. Nothing hurts him..

Buy as much time as possible and run like a coward? Hell, that's what I do anyways..

Nope. That guy doesn't really have a name, but I like to call him Mr. Claws.

No the prisoner does have an official name. I'll find it out later when I have more time to be tonight...

Okay for "it", you guys don't need to use your ammo a lot when you're still on the cage. Just thought I'd let you all know that. The main fight comes afterwards. When still on the hanging cage, only shoot him to stop him clawing you, don't waste ammo trying to kill "it" at that point because "it" is still invincible...

hey guys i am fighting krauser right now...is there anything special i am supposed to do or just shoot him a bunch? i have a killer 7 and shotgun but theyu dont seem to be doing much

When you are still collecting the three parts
Okay, the first thing to know is that you can't kill him yet at this point, so don't waste your ammo trying to. Instead rush as fast as you can to get the first two puzzle pieces, making sure you avoid the spider mines.

The best way to defeat him here I thought was to arm your knife. He tends to rush at you quickly with a knife that makes it hard to shoot him, but if you arm your knife and wait, when he does his quick-move thing you just slice him when he gets too close. He'll then fall back, throw a flash grenade, and give you more time to get the pieces. It's a great way to save ammo...

After he has mutated:

The TMP (machine gun) is the best weapon to use at that part. Keep firing at his legs so that he falls over and exposes himself, then blast him as much as you can. Whatever weapon you use just make sure you're always aiming at his legs because his mutated arm acts as a shield. Grenades are also very helpful it doing damage and making him expose himself. Try to keep a good distance between the two of you, because when he gets too close he'll start swinging...
