Going East woe?

My son and I are playing a co-op game over our home LAN. We just finished Act I with me killing Andriel. Now, I can go East to Act II, but he can't. We've tried saving and exiting the game but I am still the only one that can go East. I thought we could play the entire game together. What gives?

Thanks.

Well what happens when he tries to go east? Does the game freeze or something? Try having your son start a LAN game alone and then try to get in Act II, then you join in.

When he talks to Warriv (or whatever his name is) he isn't given the option to go East.

Alright, make sure your son checks his Quests page to make sure Andariel is done. Plus, what level is he?

re: Going East woe?

He's a level 16 Barbarian. When he goes to his quest page it says he is unable to complete the quest. I guess it's because I killed the boss. It says he needs to start a or join a new game.

re: Going East woe?

Ahhhh, there we go. Have him start a new game, and then you join in after it is created. Make sure he is with you when Andariel is killed. That ought to fix it

That's weird, though. He was with me (actually he was in town) when I killed her the first time.

I haven't played any multiplayer in D2, but in D1 you had to be on the same dungeon level to get credited with completing the quest. I'm assuming this is still the case.

So he needs to host a game, then you join and waltz in over her dead body. Good luck :-)

re: Going East woe?

Here's what I think may have happened. Even though we were playing together on the same LAN at the same time, neither one of us invited the other to join his party. I didn't realize it, but it seems every time you go back to your multiplayer game after doing a "Save and Exit" you need to re-invite the other players. I'm thinking that since we weren't officially on the same team he isn't credited with the quest being completed. What do you think?

re: Going East woe?

Yeah, you guys need to be in the same party for the other to be credited with the quest. Sorry I didn't think of that point before. Tell us when you have it resolved!

re: Going East woe?

We just got a couple of Lord of Destruction CDs and started a new game using the Assassin and the Druid. This time we're going to make sure we do the "Invite" thing every time we play.
