I know gem shrines will produce a random gem and can upgrade a gem in your inventory. I was wondering if anyone has figured out the chance of one appearing in the game. I noticed when i was a barbarian i found a lot of gems, but as a necromancer they're rare and so are the shrines (shrines are more rare)

its just luck, ur barb found alot cause u were lucky that day. its totally luck where it shows up. newhere from blood moor to chaos sanctuary(assuming ur playing diablo 2 since this is d2 forum), u can find gem shrine.
