How do you get this game????

It hasn't come out yet for GB. It will probably come out next year after the new pokemon game in spring 2003.

I don't think it'll ever come out in English...if they were going to, they would have done it by now.

I mean, the Team Rocket expansion set, the latest English expansion the game includes, was released by WotC back in April 2000. If the game was released at this point, people wouldn't buy it because it doesn't include the 10+ expansions that have been released since Rocket came out. And if I understand current WotC card limitations correctly, only a few cards from the first four expansion sets are even legal in DCI-sanctioned tournies anymore, so the fact that the game includes Base through Rocket wouldn't be an appeal for most people. (It appeals to me, but I'm weird and old-fashioned.) None of the Intropack and only minimal Vending cards were released in English anyway, so only a few members of the Pokemon card game audience would even know what the heck they are. The card problems will only multiply as more time passes.

In addition, the game is only a Gameboy Color game, and for the most part, all current Gameboy game releases would have to be Gameboy Advance to even warrant a glance from "serious" gamers in this age.

Also, if Nintendo was going to release it in English, we'd hear something about it, some promotions, some campaigns, something. Yet there aren't even rumors like there was for Green (Japanese Blue version).

I'm afraid that's how things stand.

However, for all it's worth, here's amazon.co.jp's link to the game, just in case anyone wants to get it directly from them. (The game'll be in Japanese, of course, but that's probably the only way you're going to be able to get the game at all.)
