I brought a DC for 30 bucks from a friend. He couldnt find the oringinal power cord so he just gave me his PS power cord. It powers the DC, but on the bottom of the DC it says its a 120v device. But on the power cord he gave me it says 125v. Will this heat up the DC and ruin it? New power cords are cheap like 5 bucks so its not a big deal, but i would rather not spend that money and put that towards more games.

Yes. My DC power cord, well I bought it off ebay, is 125 volts.

The DC is rated for 120 v but anyways... the US power voltage everywhere is 120 (unless it's 240). So the higher rated cable is so that it doesn't choke because it's alway at it's limit. It like a an elevator. It hold 3000 pounds but if you go on it and you're only 150 then it's okay, it'll still work. Same concept here.

The outlet is 120, your cable is 125, so yes, it should be okay. have fun.
