re: Dreamcast stuff.

Still mess around with DC_DivX a good bit. It plays .OGG, MP3's, and DivX .AVI's. Tried out just about all the other video players in the past as well, just prefered DC_DivX above all. I mean how many people can say that they have a copy of The Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring: Extended Edition for Dreamcast?

Still play games online regurlarly and occasionally use it with a Web Browser to transfer game save files.

Divx? Does it play good?
I think I downloaded the program before but it took for ever to play a 18MB file I put on the cd.

DC_DivX plays files great, provided they're within specifications.

What are the best specs for playing the files?
In fact do you have a good player in that you can tell me about?

Actually, I just finished creating a DC_DivX guide, but the site that's going to host it is having some severe technical issues at the moment.

MP3's must be 128kbps or less.
No known restrictions on .OGG files.

Videos, however, are tricky.
Must be ".AVI, "320x240 maximum resolution, Divx 524 kb/s maximum video bitrate, sound must be in MP3 format at a quality no higher than 22050mhz at 56 kbps stereo.

re: Dreamcast stuff.

I tried some VCD's, but they seemed kinda choppy, with bad audio/video sync. I've also used a SNES emulator, but it was kinda slow, and made my console sound like it was going to die.

You know, I never got the VCD's to work at all.
As for the emulators, I don't know about making the console sound like its going to die, but it did run slow.I don't think any game ran on full speed on dreamcast.I mean you try playing megaman x3 at full speed.

While we are on the topic of emulation, what systems can be emulated on dreamcast?

There are no full speed SNES emulators for Dreamcast yet. As for what can be emulated on Dreamcast, prepare to be shocked: [link removed]

re: Dreamcast stuff.

As a great as the Dreamcast is at emulating, we're not allowed to post links to emulation software here on Neo
