re: DC how much of a failure/success was it? |
|
i think it was a failure but i still love it. compared to the ps2, x-box, and gamecube its obsolite. its old but the only reason i still love it is that you can download games off the internet and play it on the dc unlike the gamecube.

Dreamcast had some of the best fighting games ever. Capcom vs SNK, Soul Calibur, Marvel vs Capcom 1 and 2. Those are great fighting games. Why did she havta die?!?!? ------------------- ![]() Speedsk8er

the Dreamcast was only bad in that it only had 6 buttons. if it had even one more, then it would be a whole world better. 6 buttons wasn't all that bad (i could still play all of my fav. games) but with 7, each game could have been a little bit better, or a little bit easier to play.

nothing wrong with dreamcast, it was just unappreciated ------------------- "I'm sorry Ms. Nanako, looks like I won't be able to take you to the beach like I promised."

quote Harri2097Damn straight, I will second that. The DC kicked ass. I think that we should also remember the fact that it was out a long time before the other current consoles, and was in fact the pioneer of the latest generation. This in my opinion was SEGA's biggest flaw. They were the first to usher in a new generation, and as such gave the other companies a standard to improve upon, i.e., the Saturn. I think it was a big success for Sega and i sad that they stopped making games for it. I think it had preaty good graphics for a game system. Even now the Dreamcast is very Valuable! ------------------- <insert awesome sig here>

I still don't see the point why Sega wanted to call the quits, Dreamcast is still one of the most special videogame consoles I ever had (the first one I bought with my own money, the rest were either my parents buyin' 'em or sibling property), and there's no other videogame console more playable in a rainy day (Code veronica during the rainfall? claaaass!

Dreamcast was a commerical failure. No doubt about it, we know the reasons why so lets not go into that. Its too pathetic that such a good machine could do Sooo badly, thx to peoples igorance. But in terms of games, it was a success story, Sega's inhouse made one brilliant original game after another, pushing both graphics, gameplay and innovation to new boundaries, time and time again. No one who knows what they are talking about games, will ever see DC as a failure - It was a fantastic machine.
