I went to the Umax site to get the driver software for Windows xp.
It was availible for sale only. I would not buy another umax product with that kind of support.

If I can't find a free xp driver for the Umax 3400 Astra, I too will recommend to others to buy something that will be properly supported. I will trash this unit and get something from another mfg.

I already used Umax Astra 3400 and it not support under Windows XP and there is no any new driver for XP yet - When I got new disc from them but send it back to them and Im sell the 3400 -- it support only 95/98/ME & it not support Win 2000/XP so you only used Win XP driver at the moment.:

Actually, downloads for the Astra 3400 under XP is on the UK site. Unfortunately, I have been unable to get them to work. It would appear you need to install 3.73, followed by 3.75, then the XP patch that ups you from 3.75 to 3.82. The one button scanning still doesn't work. I've been screwing around with this for some time. Anyone get it to work?
