When I ran Windows 98 I had no trouble with the scanner, but when I installed it in Windows ME, it gives me a file error at one point but does install.
Unfortunately when I go to scan, it says warming up for about 40 minutes before I interrupt it and it says that the program is not responding.
I've tried this a variety of ways, through the Vista Shuttle, the Vistascan, even the silly Page thing (I would much rather just go to Photoshop and scan stuff from there).
I could use some suggestions as to what to do here...

I found that Astra 3400 does not like music-download or conversion programs, like Morpheus or Midi2Wav
Will not work properly with these installed - does not copy; when it scans, it does so in one color, i.e. green, or yellow. Uninstall the music program, unplug power to scanner for 15 seconds, plug power back in, "refresh scanner" on scanner icon in lower right (near the time); then restart. Worked for me on two separate occasions.
Wish Umax would come up with a fix.

Thank you - i've been reinstalling and updating the drivers and i still get one colour only scans. I'm now off to uninstall morpheus. do you know what the culprit files are?
