I have a Umax Astra 3400 that has never worked for any extended length of time.I have had to reinstall the darn thing over & over & it never works very long at a time.Now each time I boot my computer as soon as the desktop appears I get a message saying the scanner has encountered a problem & needs
to shut down.I have the scanner icon on my desktop & each
time I click it I get the same message.Is there anyting short
of throwing the darn thing away to solve my problem?I have the
instructions I received from Umax on how to install the scanner on Win XP using Vista scan X disk(I have the disk)& I
have it installed using the instrcutions but it still won't work

You need to crack VSACCESS.EXE file, otherwise your scanner wouldnt operate in WINDOWS XP. I'll send you the link - pls give me your mail.
