Grand Theft Auto's agreement with Sony ends in 2004, see what anaylst have to say about it.

In an article published a few days ago on Yahoo! Finance anaylst, Rockstar, Take-Two, and Electronic Arts representatives expressed how important Mature rated games are to the gaming industry. Besides stressing that ironically PlayStation's market sells 24% Mature games while Xbox only sells 19% at the end of the article, Michael Pachter, an analyst with Wedbush Morgan Securities stated that when the exclusitivity agreement that Grand Theft Auto series has with PlayStation 2 ends, it will sell a "Jillon copies" on the Xbox and GameCube. Quoting the last paragraph of the article:

"The last two "Grand Theft Auto" games have provided an immersive story with multiple coinciding missions. The next one is due out in 2004. A month later, "Grand Theft Auto 3" and "Vice City" finish exclusive run on Sony's PlayStation 2 and will be available for Microsoft's Xbox and Nintendo's GameCube. "And they will sell, like, a jillion copies," Pachter said."

It was before thought that the Grand Theft Auto simply go to PlayStation 3 and be exclusive to that system, but as it stands now perhaps that isn't the complete truth. We will have more on this as it develops.

Well it's good to say that GTA 3 and Vice City will be finally released for XBOX as a double pack. This release will be on November 04, 2003.

Yay! GTA3 finally coming to X-Box after 2 and a half years of announcing, cancelling and announcing again.

Us people in the UK will probably have to wait (as usual) for the double pack to come out. I hope it's not too long. I dont think the wait will be as long as it is with some games. (Dynasty Warriors)

IF YOU DONT KNOW abought grand theft auto III, you must've stolen his magazine out of someone else's mailbox or thought it was an issue of modern maturnity. the game became a cultrual phenomenon like no peice of software before it. Celebrities talked abought it; parents were outraged by it; and gamers flocked to it. As we speak, it is still toping sales charts.
This game can no longer be confined by platstation 2. rockstar is bringing GTA III to microsoft's console to appease the millions of xbox owners world wide screaming for free-roaming gameplay and ingenious missions. Is this in response to the strong sales of the xbox version of midnight club2? Is it because games like true crime and roadkill are trying to capitalize on the series' success on a system where GTA has never appeared? Who cares? All that matters to us is it's going to be on xbox, Baby! The big question: What new things does this version bring to the table? A Rockstar represenitive tell's us the company is maintaining the essence of the game. You wont find new characters or extra missions here; they're unnecessary. What you will find is a more polished product that takes advantage of the power of xbox.
If gta III had an Achilles' hel, it was the graphics. For tech geeks. You'll be pleased as a punch to hear the xbox version supports high-definition, 16x9, and 720p. To go along with this, Rockstar north has upped the resolution on nearly every texture. Advanced specular lighting brilliantly illuminates. Liberty ciy in real time. The city itself isn't the only thing that will look better. All of the vehicles and major characters have new skins and more polygons. Reflections on vehicles are much more noticeable, and will cast diffrently depending on the type of vehicle you are driving.
The audio of grand theft auto III was something that set a benchmark for the industry. It won gameinformers best video game soundtrack award for 2001. In all, there's abought three hours of quality listining here.You've got lazlow doing hilarious talk radio, some kicken' reggae jams, and great fictionouis commercials spots. Add customized soundtracks to the list, thanks to xbox's hard drive. Theses, as well as all of the games audio, can now be enjoyed in Dolby 5.1.
There are rumors that Rockstar isn't stopping the xbox love with GTA III, and may even be looking at packing vice city along with it. That's a conversation for another issue, however. Besides this is a huge news as is, and is sure to lift the spirit of every xbox owner in existance.

The game will hopefully be out before 2004. I saw November 5th, and 4th. So im going to expect novemberish.
