re: Are your parents against this game? |

My parents dont know much about the game, they have only seen a little bit of it. But since I am 19 and can buy anything I want, (except alcohol, stupid America) it doesnt really matter what they say.

My parents, ha, I can go down to my local HMV or Currys and get the game (to them, a sale is a sale, who cares if I'm only 13). My mum and dad don't care about the age restrictions, they let me buy whatever I want. Heck, I got into tons of 15 movies when I was 10-12 and I still do.

I think best buy is ok with buying games rated M. I don't look like im 16 (probably older) but they don't know that. I purchased Unreal Championship, and they didn't say anything..which i was pleased about. But the cashier was a dude, dudes are always cool with it.
In EB they don't allow you, depending on the game. When i put a deposit down, the manager said, "just give you father/mother the money, and they will "pay" and then it makes it much easier". Meaning, my dads cool...i hope. ------------------- I Spin more rhymes than a lazy Suzan, and I'm innocent 'til mah guilt is proven | |

I'am 15. But my parents are very very very very overprotective. The only reason I got Halo was cause I had to do a lot of shit for them.

quote SSG4Owch... that sucks. Having to work a lot just to get Halo! And think about it, the only reason it's M is probably because you can (*bleep*edly) shoot the human marines. Otherwise, it's just shooting aliens, and that normally wouldn't get an M. quote Jn_JoshAn idea that is simultaneously ingenious and *bleep*edly stupid at the same time. You can only hide a game (or any such common thing) for so long. Eventually, your parents are going to either: A) Catch you playing the game. B) You accidently slip about the game, revealing too much for someone who 'hasn't played it mom, I swear'. C) Find the disc/CD case/Manual. But if that's what it takes, god speed. On to myself. I'm almost to M level purchase wise. When WalMarts started making it so underaged can't buy M games, was around when I got DiabloII. My mom asked what the whole ban thing was about. I told her the truth. Stupid kids blamed violence on videogames, and they're taking it out on the games rather then the kids. So, I get the game, I have fun. I've been playing M games since I was, uh... 12? 13? I'm 16 now. I have yet to kill anyone. Do I get on the news? No, the crazy 12 year old with a shotgun his parents bought him who blames shooting someone/thing on his game his parents bought him. Media portrays videogames as machinations of violence, but that's a lie. The point? That's why there is a ban, or even an ESRB. If I'm performing an extra gruesome part of a game, my mom might ask if I'm going to become a mass murderer. I say no, and it's done. My mom is great. ------------------- "Throw enough goblins at any problem and it should go away. At the very least, there'll be fewer goblins." Thats true, i like the big report on everything. Your really into it. I've never been said no to when i've asked my parents to get me a game. Regardless, if they did, i have 6 family members over 25, so im sure they'd help me in a flash.

But as soon as one person does something that could be blamed on by the game, they sue. But usually that won't happen with a person 18 years and older.

i'm 14,my mom knows alot about gta and probably won't let me get it till like i'm 16,or 17 and be able to get it myself.my dad doesn't care, which is cool,he just asks if i have the game i want, and then we leave.my mom on the other hand isn't like that, and it's going to be a while before i get a copy of gta.

Thats brutal man, perhaps you could just get your dad to buy it then. I don't know if that would work, but having to wait 2 years, i would be pissed..

Yes, of course. They saw a Good Morning America about how bad it was and they wouldn't let me play it afterwards. But I'll use the same tactic I did to allow me to get Dead Or Alive Xtreme Beach Volleyball
