How or when do you get to the other parts of the city? The bridge is destroyed and the tunnel is under construction. Do I ever return to the island for missions? Help me out!

You open the City one island at a time. There are three islands in total, Potland, Staunton and Shoreside Vale.
I dont want to ruin the storyline for you so I will just tell you the name of the missions and nothing else about them: Completing "Salvatore's Last Requests" opens up the bridge, subway and Porter tunnel to Staunton Island. However, the part of the Tunnel and subway as well as the Staunton Lift bridge (which connects Staunton to Shoreside) remain locked at this point. Completing the Donald Love Mission just before Grand Theft Aero, opens up the rest of the passages to Shoreside Vale. -------------------  It's official. I have truly become a babysitter on Neo.
