Neoseeker's Holiday Guide - Part 1 |
|
Hello Neo-nites,
We've got the first part of our annual holiday guide ready for your prying eyes. Part one has a ton of awesome stuff, for techies and gamers alike, whether you're into hardware or video games -- or both. We've included price checks for every item, both online and in-store retail, along with excerpts and links from the original reviews. Still, if you don't want to read the reviews themselves, just know that the products on the list have been loved by some member of our review staff or another. And if you don't see something you're interested in, feel free to ask questions. Also keep in mind that we will be rolling out more guides as December comes around, which will no doubt cover those major holiday titles... if they're worthy. The first page is a comprehensive guide for the guide, in case some of you are new to the site or our reviews. Neoseeker's Holiday Guide 2009 - Part 1 ------------------- ![]() R . C . G .

I hadn't actually heard or Risen before I read the guide, which kind of disappoints me -- I've had so little time to keep up with the gaming scene. =( This is made even more embarrassing by the fact that it was reviewed on Neoseeker... =O

I hate living where I do. I have to order all this stuff in if I want it. I'm still shocked that my local game store no longer stocks Risen. Apparently a month old game is too old to order more stock in for.

quote MishtramIt's not very popular. I wish more people cared about it. Try the demo and buy the crap out of it! It could entertain for years.

Man, this is actually a sort of successor to the Gothic series?
I mean, the folks who made Gothic were never great at hyping their games either, so usually only the more avid RPG fans ever found their stuff. I never even heard of a spiritual successor being made though. =O The graphics looks amazing, I hope this ancient PC can handle them. *bites lip* ------------------- I don't hate oldies, I just amuse myself playing with them.

quote Hellfire29Have you considered digital downloads? Mishtram, it's not sort of, it is absolutely Gothic 4, just not named so for legal reasons (the upcoming Arcania: A Gothic Tale, from a different studio, sounds barely like Gothic...they're changing everything, seemingly for the worse). I prefer games that let me discover them instead of shoving themselves in my face. It's even more gorgeous in action. Mmmmm. You should be able to if your PC is decent, but on low settings it looks quite different. Still very playable but not so much with the "wowwww" factor. I would say it's worth upgrading for, absolutely, if you can't run it. This message was edited by chautemoc on Oct 31 2009.

I'm DLing the Risen demo, if I like that, I'll DL it.
The Article also reminded me to install the Path Prologue. If I like that, I'll spend the $10 to get the main game. -------------------
