I just got this game used for christmas. When I first meet the zombies in the hospital entry area, my game pops up a loading screen and then freezes with a brown pixel background (looks kind of like sand). I still hear the background music playing, but nothing else happens even when I wait for like 5 minutes and press every button.

Is something wrong with my CD? Is there a way to fix it?

well, I tried playing the game on a new pS2 (the skinny type) and I was able to get past this point.
