I was wondering does anyone even play pokemon gold anymore because all my friends that have it dont play it anymore and i had it but i finshed the whole thing got all the pokemon all 16 badges so i erased it and gave it to my cousin and he doesnt even play it anymore+you should try the new ones like Emerald,Leaf green,Diamond,peal.People what is so good about gold now.Its like 5 years old and maybe i might say the some for the new ones one day but stop playing gold and play the new one.

Well, if I knew where it was, I'd still play it...

Gold was just an amazing game over-all, the story-line was good, it was original, and it didn't suck like many of the "newer" games.

You obviously don't know the meaning of "Golden Classics". Many old games just kick too much ass to be "old".

G/S/C may not have all those fancy graphics and stuff that the new games have, but they beat them in just about everything else.

BTW, just because someone still plays it does not mean that they don't have the new games. I own and have beaten every Version that has ever come out so far, and Silver is among the top, along with Emerald.


My reason for not playing G/S/C anymore? Internal Battery paranoia. If they die, I'm going to kill myself (not literally).

Jai Poke Manic - Could it because, I don't know, it's for GAME BOY COLOR!? You can't judge something based on it's graphics if it couldn't GET better graphics during the time of release.

The Pokemon were better then the third and fourth generations put together.

The items are just like the others minus the useless things made for the later games, and last, Leaf Green and Fire Red are REMAKES of Pokemon Red and Green.

I must admit that I liked Silver a bit better than Gold, but Gold is still up there. And, for the record, I hated LG/FR. Blue and Red were SO much better. Graphics don't make a game, gameplay and storylines do. Graphics are just allow you to see it, it doesn't matter if they're good or not. The Pokemon were some of the best created in my opinion, and I would still play it if my bro wasn't such a hog with the SP. I'd play it more than D/P, more than likely. And the "stronger" Pokemon you speak of are more than likely uubers, and few people even use those. G/S/C was the most strategic time period, because few Pokemon were amazingly strong. Strategy is the basis of Pokemon, which demands you to think about things. If you look at it this way, the games never get boring. And the items were some of the best created. Just imagine the game without leftovers, it would suck. All those berries you use now when you don't have enough money for the medicine were created in this game, only with different names. Your ignorant statement that states if you play it, you don't have the newer ones is completely incorrect. I have almost every Pokemon game that is available in English, and G/S/C remain the best, in my opinion. And as Jon said, some games just kick too much ass to grow old, and become Golden Classics. G/S/C fit into this category, as do R/B/Y.

I think one of the main reasons that it was so awesome was the whole Johto oined with Kanto thing. There were so many places to go. Unlike Sinno which is just too small.
