Why?

I don't get it. Why does everyone keep playing and asking questions in the forums when their battery inside the cartridge is just going run out and thier game data will be completely erased and never save again? It's will just be all a waste of time.

re: Why?

SOME people turn off their GBCs (Me) then, they ask questions. Or we pick up a jack and plug it into the area where jacks go in.

re: Why?

Umm...I don't mean the battery in your Gameboy. I'm talking about the battery inside the freaken Pokemon Gold cartridge to keep the memory active. It constantly is on and you can't turn it off. Most people don't even know it's there. It's why people complain about their games not saving properly. It runs out after like 5-7 years.

re: Why?

So what you're saying is, that we have to play the game constantly for 5-7 years.

re: Why?

No. The battery inside the Pokemon Gold Cartridge is always running even when you turn off your gameboy. It's not the same battery as the one inside your gameboy. It's tiny and inside the actual game cartridge. It keeps the memory running. When it runs out, the memory doesn't save anymore. That's why we get so many people complaining about their games not saving.

Now dude. Don't get confused because you're not actually told the battery is inside the game by the instructions. So no matter what, even if you turn off the game! This tiny battery is still on.

So I was wondering why people bother to try to fully complete the game when it's just going to die in another year or so?

re: Why?

Because it's fun. WHy play any game like this when it could be erased? And btw, I have had some of my GBC/A games for well over 5-7 years. Just because it could doesn't mean it will. And dude, don't act like you know everything about video games. Just because someone asked a question or made a mistake doesn't mean their a dumbass like you were acting like you thought King was.

re: Why?

Juice Box, you probably played all these games as well and most likely used a lot of your time playing this game. This is just an assumption I'm making from your little rant. Most people don't know about the internal battery, if you buy a game, you're not expected to know it has one to begin with. With that being said, people play the game because they enjoy playing it. Who are you to say otherwise.

re: Why?

Besides, you can always use a Mega Memory Card to keep all of your game data. Once I get one, I'll start playing G/S/C again.

I wasn't saying otherwise. I was just wondering why because some people try too hard to beat these games but will be shocked when they go to look at their completed game and find that it's all gone. I wasn't trying to come on like I'm annoyed about it.

re: Why?

Like it's been state, people play it because they enjoy it and most likely don't know about the internal battery situation. It sure look like you were annoyed or something along the lines.
