Where do you catch Pineco? I looked on gamefaqs and it says Ilex forest, I was looking for about 3 hours during the day and night.
Can someone tell me if he is in gold and where he is.

You need Headbutt on a pokemon on your team. Go in Ilex forest and just use Headbutt on small trees. You can also go to the exit of Union Cave (next to Azalea town). That's where I found my Pineco.

Did it take long for you to find your Pineco, because I spent a lot of time headbutting trees in Ilex and nothing.

I have been looking for Pineco now forever, I have not once encounted him, why cant I find him!!! Does it matter which tree I have to head butt, please someone help im going crazy.

Thats right I have not once encounter a Pineco and I been headbutting trees all over Johto for 3 days now. Im doubting that he exists. Does it matter which trees I need to headbutt or any tree in that general area.

Well, I got my Heracross, Aipom, and Pineco at the trees to the right of Slowpoke Well around the berry tree, the girl, the grass and the Hiker. When you're in towns, you won't get any pokemon... That's why they have really long paths, or the small building things that you have to go through between towns.

Same With Me I Haven't Encountered Pineco. Is He Even In Pokemon Gold? I Found Him In Silver But Not Gold.

There isn't a certain tree, but a certain route...

I must say that I sympathize with some of these posts - I leveled an Abra from 5 to 27 by headbutting trees in Ilex, and didn't come across any Pineco whatsoever... it's starting to realy aggrivate me.

Well, try some where else then. It's usually in the morning or afternoon. I never caught a headbutted pokemon in Ilex Forest cause I've never tried. I've mainly been in the Routes more than Forests.

The best place for catching Pineco for headbutting trees is also the place where you get Aipoms. This is just to the east of the town where the Ghost gym is (sorry forgot the name). There is also that cave and water that you find, and lots of trees to headbutt.

Try Lake of Rage in the morning.

I think at night you can find a bunch of Pineco at the very end of Ilex forest... There's a small building and right buy it just walk and I'm pretty sure you'll find some.
