This is a bit off the top of my head, but I want to keep the forum alive so... Perhaps an on-topic general discussion?

Alright everyone, Sakura and I need your opinions.

We have recently been NeoPMd with the suggestion that we close down the General Discussion. This way the forum wouldn't be kept alive with just a GD containing a few members. Everyone from the GD could go to the Pokemon IRC where they are trying to build a better, and close knit, community.

Before we decide anything though, we would like to know what you think. YOU are this forum, and so you make the decision. Would you like to keep your general discussions or would you like to head on over to the Pokemon IRC permanently?

This is a very tough decision for myself, as I'm sure it is for every participant of this forum.
The General Discussion is where we go to just 'hang out', if you can call it that. However, it shouldn't be the only thing keeping this forum alive. Perhaps leaving it open but trying to get more activity in the on-topic general discussion? I'm not totally sure, because I don't know every member of the community, and what they would want. I'll post this in the General Discussion and then we'll see what the people of the General Discussion think.

We had one of those before, it didn't work out to well. It started off with people saying "It was a dream, this and this never happened" because they didn't like the outcome of what the other person said. Then, it led to a flame war, and was closed down. The community has been very well behaved, to say the least, so it would be the moderator's decisions if they think we deserve another one of those threads.

The Gold GD may be the only thing keeping it alive, but I personally that it's the only thing that COULD keep it alive, when it has so many newer games ahead of it. I vote to keep it.

I agree. With an old forum like this, people have generaly figured out most of the problems in the game. The GD is all that is supporting this forum. The Pokemon IRC wouldn't deal with just these people and that's one of the things I love about this GD. There aren't any n00bs or annoyances as there are in other Pokemon GDs.
