Improving Morwen |
|
Once you begin the chapter where she is, go rescue her right off. She will likely get killed a few times in this battle as she has a low armour value and low Con, so just expect it.
Next after the battle is over make sure to use some of her Stat points on her Con and get her Con up somewhat, also put some point on her Spirit so that her AP points will be greater. Then later when she goes up another level do the same thing, keep upgrading her Con and then some on her Spirit. Now go to a save point and then travel back to an easy place like the very begining and use her Thief Skills and get those upgraded. Once you are able to use the Steal Skill Points, do that a lot and also use Steal Experience Points when available a lot as that will also help. Use her Battle Haste over and over in each battle to get her Dual Axe skills up. When you travel back make sure that she is the character that you walk around with so that she gets some extra expierence to help get her level up with the rest of the characters. Also if you travel back to an earlier location you cna use her Steal Item skill to get some nice stuff. I had her upgraded to where she had the Cloak of the Plains before I took on Grima Wormtongue and she made it a lot easier to win. Since when she uses Cloak of the Plains she takes no damage and cannot be targeted until it wears off. Make sure that you use her Steal Item skill on Grima Wormtongue. Make sure to get her Battle skills upgraded so that she can use Poisoned Wounds and TWin Wounds as soon as you can and then get Paralyzing Wound and Stunning Cleave. NOTE: Once you get the Shadow Stone at the Balrog Battle have several characters use it to ;learn the Shadow Skill set. Once several characters have Fear, it will be easy to use Fear on an enemy and then have Morwen use Battle Haste over and over as this will get her battle skills upgraded to the max. Also have Morwen be one of the characters that knows the Shadow skill set as this will help a lot. ------------------- Curiosity killed the cat, but satisfaction brought it back.

re: Improving Morwen |
quote crazygamerWhen I train Morwen I have her use steal skill, this gives you a skill point in Thief skills as well as a skill point in Dual Axe skills. Then once you have Cloak of the Plains use her Battle Haste skill as this will increase her Dual Axe skills without killing the target. Once Morwen has Cloak of the Plains she is very useful since when she uses this she can not be attacked until it wears off. Make sure to level her up and increase her base AP so that she is able to use Cloak of the Plains more often. ------------------- Curiosity killed the cat, but satisfaction brought it back.

quote Bubbadude45Umm.. Exsquease me? Morwen is one of the best andmy favorite because of her thief craft. Morwen does not "suck" unless you actually train her lol. When i got her she had like 87 DEX. I trained it up to 100 and then her strength to 100 and now she almost never misses meaning she does serious damage barley misses and has incredible thief craft. Also, sorry if my grammar is bad and i dont make sense.. just want to defend Morwen. I do agree with you about Berethor and Hadod. Berethor has awesome leadership and hadod has great strength and health.

re: Improving Morwen |
quote zam man5 I am glad that there is another fan of Morwen around, as I don't think that there are many of us Fans of Morwen. Morwen doesn't do at all well at first, since she starts with a relatively low level compared to the others in your party, as well as a low constitution with armour that is light. You can't do all that much about her armour until later in the game, but you certainly can improve her markedly to the point where she becomes a great character. You need to increase her level, increase her constitution, and increase her skills. Once Morwen is trained and leveled up properly she is an awesome fighter and the only one that can do more melee damage than her is Berethor. If you train her and build her up properly she is a killing machine since she gets so many actions compared to the others. Just make sure to back her up with someone that can help her when she needs it. Also it is a really good idea to train her with the light stone as well as with the shadow stone. ------------------- Curiosity killed the cat, but satisfaction brought it back.

Hmm...I found an easy way to improve her. If you take her to East Emnet Gullies and go into the the save point near the warg caves, the battles are frequent, and the wargs need AP to attack anything. Just use one "Steal Action" and the warg will just sit there until you kill it. Then just use Steal Skill repeatedly, and Action when you need it. Battle Haste also gets your Dual-Axe Craft up quickly here. This applies to all characters, but Morwen is extremely fast and gets up quick here.
And to the Morwen Bashers...You just haven't raised her right. My Morwen is at about level 65, and she easily solos the Nazgul, and her Rohirrim Rage usually does around 2000-10000 damage, depending on the armor, six times. She almost outdamages Berethor with his Blade of the Valar, which is saying something. Not to mention her Steal Health/Action abilities are very powerful and useful. I know that early on she is extremely...squishy...but later on, if you raise her CON just a little bit, she won't be two-hit and you can steal back any health you lose, or just kill anything that so much as twitches before you get hurt.

I found that some trolls later on give you a 3 extra skill points instead of 1 when you use steal skill on them
