Hey does anyone know Dante's last name? Cuz it couldnt be Sparda. Sparda's the name of his father...

I think he is kinda like "Madonna" or "Prince" he might only have 1 name. I'm not sure, good question though. And yeah Dante Sparda sounds funny.

Actually, unless I'm very much mistaken his name is Dante Sparda. I'm sure someone will confirm or deny this, but I'm pretty sure that's what it is. I've seen Dante Sparda written down in several places.

Considering that his father's name is Sparda it is a bit confusing, but I'm almost certain Sparda is Dante's last name.

Maybe Sparda, is the last name, and people don't call him by his first name. Like when you talk about someone with great power or a lot of respect, a lot of people will call him by his last name. Like when you talk about President Bush, you say Bush, you don't say George.

True. That does leave the fact that (by our way of naming anyway) if Sparda is Dante's last name, that means his Father would be called Sparda Sparda while weilding the Sparda sword.

Good point about the names. But didn't sparda also use um...yamto? The alastor like force edge?

Yamato? No, that was just the Legendary Dark Knight character that used that. That wasn't really Sparda in DMC1. In fact, I'm not entirely sure just what it was.

But Sparda himself used the Sparda sword, which is probably why it was named like that.

Hmmm... maybe the Legendary Dark Knight will make an appearance here, and maybe some detail of who he is and where he came from. A 3rd brother possibly??? Who knows.

I thought the Dark knight was sparda. He has his "shadow" devil trigger form and spardas guns.

That Legendary Dark Knight character in DMC1 was supposed to be Sparda I think in some weird way. But it wasn't done that well as in cut-scenes everyone referred to him as Dante and he had Dante's appearance in them as well.

If they include an extra character in this game as a hidden extra, they should at least make things different enough to make it viable.

Maybe Sparda didn't had a last name and didn't see why his sons should. At times Dante's full name almost seems to be "Dante, son of Sparda". Before family names existed, it was one way to identify people... for example, if there were two Peter in the village, one could be Peter, son of John and the other Peter, son of Matthew.

Hmmm, that is interesting and could very possibly be true. Can't see a reason why it can't. But the game is set to be very gothic, and Sparda is suppose to be from the olden times. But DM48 did say that it was writtin somewhere that Dante's last name was Sparda. Who knows maybe somebody can find a link and tell us all.

has anyone ever takin in the fact that it could be Angelo. Dante Angelo. it could be it. seein as his brother was renamed Nelo but the Angelo could've been their last name to begin with. so in a sense Angelo could be his last name. Sparda Angelo, Dante Angelo, Vergil Angelo. its a possible fact and it can be proven but who knows really but Capcom. or you guys can check the manual and it might show some clues...... nope i just checked it didn't help at all but take into what i said a consideration though it could be true you know.

No i dont think so......i don't see Dante's last name being 'Angelo'.
Vergil got the personal title of 'Nelo Angelo', the black angel or dark angel when he came back from dark side, but of course we know that Vergil already has that streak of evil in him anyway, a perfect candidate for a black knight!
