If there are no last names in the DMC series then why would Dante's alias be Tony Redgrave or Redgrail. If there were no last names then his alias wouldn't have a last name either. This means that there are last names in Devil May Cry and we just don't know what Dante's is. Also, some people say his name might be Dante Sparda and others say that would make his father's name Sparda Sparda. This isn't true. Sparda existed back in the middle ages before the creation of surnames, and as a demon he wouldn't have one. Meanwhile, his sons exist in the human world in a time that is very close to present if it isn't present. Therefore he would have a last name. Unfortuneately all we can do theorize as to what his last name is seeing as how there is no definitive proof of what it is.

you do realize dante made up his "alias" so ppl dont think he out of place, and ask A LOT of questions on why he doesnt have a last name.

but if u need to know a last name try to find out his mothers last name. Chances are he would take on her last name

OK. When does Dante go by an alias in the games? Thats not true at all. Tell me what game its in and for what purpose? He doesn't even talk very much.

read the archive in all the game they tell a lot. Its not the fact that no one has a last name its the fact that none of them say there last name.

I think he doesn't have one, besides, it can't be Dante Sparda or Dante Dante(like Mario bros. which is Mario Mario)
