LOL! You just hate Raphael because he can dodge just about any move using A+K , and because his stilletto can kill you in 5 seconds THROUGH GUARD, right?

I hate raphael just because DG likes him. well you can hardly dodge any of link's attacks so I don't worry about him much

I've never played the GC version, so I don't know about Link's attacks. But I do know that Raphael can dodge anything that is a normal attack. He can jump over slices, duck them, sidestep... And then insult you while slashing your ass three times.
All by pressing A+K repeatedly.

Only Cervantes has a comparable number of sneaky counters.
Well, also Mitsurugi, actually.... Mmm. Damascus sword...

well most of links attacks are broad swings so ducking, jumping, or sidestepping wouldn't work

Yes it would. He can dodge just about anything. Try it. Get someone (or the practise mode) to do those "broad sweeping attacks", then use Raphael, and press A+K (horizontal attack and kick) just as link does the attack. I bet you he dodges.

I've seen him dodge some ridiculous things. One thing he can't dodge though, is a multi-hit combo from Taki. The second hit catches him in the air. So to deal with that, just use a normal counter!

Wow. This is the first time I've ever seen a thread like this a game for a fighting game. (cracks his knuckles and gets ready to enlighten)

When it boils right down to it, none of the characters are better or worse than the next (that is a fact in just about every fighting game) some maybe harder to master than others, but none are actually worse, or better.

A friend of mine thought Talim sucked, so to prove my point we had a match. He picked Maxi and I chose Talim. He was confident that he would win. Now, he's no begginer at SC, He owns all three games in the series and two versions of SC2. He's been playing ever sense Soul Edge/blade. And the match begun.....and I completly decked him. As Talim, I mopped the floor with him. We had another match, he chose Mitsurugi (A character he had played with ever sense soul blade) and agian, i chose talim. Agian, i won.

My point is, none of the character actually suck, they just all must be handled differenty to be mastered. the characters I'm training with right now are Voldo (I didn't play as him much in sc1 or sb) and Link (just becuase he takes a while to master)

But any of the characters can be leathel if used in the right hands.

DO NOT make me start with voldo and ivy! those charachters are so dumb!!!!! when ever you attack them they are so cheap!!! When ever you are them you suck!!! They are like link's and taki's worst enemys when i play soul calibur II!!!

I think voldo is ther worst. He's unplayable...
