You can counter throws too, you know. Just press the buttons for the same throw that someone is trying to use, and it stops the throw working.

I know that, but that's what we call "catching your openent off guard" And they have to press the SAME throw buttons, so thing only thing that can save you is a wild guess.

True... And that is a pain in the butt. My advice is never let the buggers get close enough to use a throw.
But of course it's not that easy. Especially when they use Taki. I hate her.

Luckily, I have now become the throw master with Cervantes. I counter almost every attack with a throw. Using Lethe, that's bloody deadly.

Oh, but he can.... *evil laughter* I found that if you use the normal counters, followed up by throws, he does extremely well. If they try using normal attacks (vertical or horizontal), Cervantes' special damaging counters will OWN them.

Use Lethe to make your throws extremely powerful. Then finish the opponent off using a few quick hits.

I only recently worked out the counter/throw strategy, and now I own.

Well, I'm just gonna say this DG. If fate ever demand that you have match with me, the last thing you want to do is use the same technique over and over.

But.... Considering that my strategy includes using Geo Da Ray, quick combos, attack throws, tricky counters, normal counters, and the occasional sneaky unblockable, what else is there to use?

I don't like Link much and Taki is just too weak for me.

keep in mind that all that can be avoided, there's no player or character that's unstoppable.

Of course it can all be avoided. I never said I always win. But my new strategy makes me USUALLY win. Which is certainly an improvement over nearly always losing...

Beat em ups are game were you explore around and BEAT PEOPLE UP. Like oh say...streets of rage? the new ninja turtles game? Dynasty warriors? Double Dragon? All those are examples of Beat Em ups. They're called beat em ups becuase you do just that, you go around and beat people up. Soul calibur is of the breed called "fighting games" that was started by street fighter I. There's a big difference.

Dynasty Tactics is an RPG. In Dynasty warriors, you actually control a single character on the battle field in beat em' up style gameplay. (There amazingly fun games)
