Problems with joystick control

I tried using two seperate USB joysticks to fly helicopters and jets in BF2. It worked, but I was left with a problem. It seems one of my sticks is off-centre. Definitely a hardware problem. But I thought surely I could fix that with a dead zone...

But of course I then discovered that BF2 has no option for a deadzone. Unless I'm just a complete *bleep* and missed it.

Can anyone help? I tried using the "dxtweak2" utility to set a dead zone, but it seems to make no difference.

The problem is basically that whenever I'm flying a helicopter, I find it keeps rolling slightly to the right, and I have to correct for it. When I'm flying a jet I get the same problem, and also on takeoff I find the plane is steering slightly to the left near the end of the runway. Kind of strange, that. That's the OTHER joystick controlling the rudder, and that one is perfectly centered, so I don't know why that happens.

Anyway, can anyone come up with a solution? The rudder controller is a Saitek ST200. The other one with the big problem... I have no damn idea. It's some generic black plastic thing they were selling in GAME about 3 years ago.

As a rough description it's shaped so it's uncomfortable to use left-handed, which is annoying. It has a trigger that's also black and doesn't stick out from the stick's surface, and 3 buttons on top of the stick (these are actually broken on my stick but that shouldn't affect the stick itself, surely?)
On the left hand side of the base (which is big, black, and round, there are 4 numbered buttons. There's also a throttle lever thing, set vertically on the base.

The problem is I don't know what the stick is so I don't know if there are any third party or updated drivers for it out there.

Maybe I'll have to give up and use the keyboard with one stick. But I'm hoping someone can at least tell me if anyone else has similar problems.

Why on earth doesn't the game have deadzone options if the steering is a problem even on the perfectly working stick? Or does an update fix this? I only play offline and I dont have broadband, so the game is as it first installed.
