'Save-level' not working in Pariah

I have reinstalled both the game and the patch twice but the 'autolevel-save' facility is not working.

This is a real pain because it has only saved the first two levels and does not give the player the option to save.

Everytime I get killed I have to go right back to the second level.

Anyone had this problem?
