re: NHL 2006

It could, didn't you hear about talks going to go on tomorrow? And if there wasn't going to be a NHL season, you could just take the stats from last year, although that wouldn't be the best thing to do...

There's something called "THE STUPID OWNERS AND PLAYERS COULDN'T AGREE ON A STUPID THING". And now, there is no season anymore.

I think that there will definitely NHL 2006. They are so good games and will get better when NHL 2006 comes out.

re: NHL 2006

The PS2 version comes with the classic NHL '94.

I am buying it just because of that.

I doubt it will have an updated roster with all the new changes that will be taking place once a deal is done.

Well on the easports website it has a page for NHL2006, so I am guessing there is going to be 1.

re: NHL 2006

Surprised there hasn't been a forum for NHL 2006, considering it's slated to release in two weeks from now. I hope they delay it for a little bit to make sure they get the rule changes in the game.

yeah it would be cool if they like made the nets bigger. Because that is one of the new rules the nhl has made.

Or what about making the goalie pads smaller. Do you think they will incorporate that into the game to.

Incorrect. The nets are remaining exactly the same, but the goalie pads are being slightly reduced. Other major rule changes are a 3 on 3 shootout after the normal 4 on 4 OT period to decide the game (no more ties). Playoff overtimes will remain the same as before. The center red line is no longer counted for two-line passing, which opens the game up a bit. There is a new area behind the goalie net that constitutes as the only area the goalie can play the puck in, otherwise he has to leave the puck alone. The blue lines are pulled back a bit, giving more room in the offensive zone. You can now tag up on an offsides call, not have it automatically called on you if you're in the offensive zone and the puck is passed to you, but you decide not to touch it. Before this rule change if the puck was passed into the offensive zone with an offensive player already in it, it would automatically be called offsides. Icing the puck from your own zone to save yourself from an offensive onslaught is no longer allowed and will result in a penalty (which I think sucks). Fight instigators will be called more often, and holding and clutching will be called much more often. For a full list of changes in the NHL, you should check out nhl.com (Neoseeker has apparently taken out the ability to link to out of neo-websites).
