Without jets then helicopters are going to be overpowered. The only thing that will be able to take them out is anti tank (if your good at it) and turrets

wrong. snipers can shoot the pilot of the helicopter. once the pilot is dead everyone else is dead if they dont jump out and parachute, but then again your up against sniper fire. plus, only skilled tankers can take a helicopter out with a tank round.

well thats not good, cuz once in a while you will have those snipers who wait for people to get in the helo, and then *boom* the pilot doesn't even lift off and is now dead.
Also, if you have ever flown a Helo in a Battlefield game then you wont be hovering, so shooting some one in a helo with a sniper will be difficult.
Its not hard to shoot a helo down with a tank, but you do need to practice. Its just the matter of s"hooting at where the helo will be"in a couple secs" so the shot will hit the helo.

i have flownt he helo many times in the game. you actually have a 3 to 4 sec gap before helo lifts off the ground. plus if your using the american sniper rifle(m82a1a) you can be half a map away and shoot the pilot. shooting someone in a helo will not be that difficult for the skilled snipers, trust me. i made a habit of being the loner sniper on a rooftop(that cannot be accessed by any foot soldier or tank) and ill watch enemy helos, watch as the pilot jumps in, ill shoot him right through windshield. and its not spawn camping since since spawn vary on what areas you have captured, and the helos are always a good distance to run to on some maps. some of the tanks take multiple shots, hell even the american apache wont take down a big helo with one rocket. itll take 2 or 3 rockets.

if the sniper is like me the only way you can get to him is by a helo. when i start off games ill grab a helo, fly over a tall building jump out and parachute down to rooftop. then i start pickin people off from there. when im out of ammo, i jump/chute down to ground, go to a ammo cache, find another helo and do it all over again. like i said above, your bodys wont spawn close to a helo, youll have to run a good distance to get to it. on some maps, enemy helo spots are wide open, so you can see your enemy runnin to the helos and pop a shot and drop'em.

Air-strikes are also capable of taking out helos.

could be an idea for the next BF. Does this mean that we aren't going to be able to hover as a 'copter or is it just a bad idea to do so? I wonder if they'll put anything else in instead of fighter jets.

Oh sorry, I meant artillery strikes. They're still pretty good at taking down a chopper though.

That's for the xbox version, I can't find any screenshots of planes for the ps2 version. I think they've made a mistake and posted the screen shots for the xbox 360. Does anybody else see confusion about the differences with the ps2 and xbox, and the xbox 360 versions? It says 100 players for all three, I think they meant just the 360 version, but there seems to be confusion everywhere. What can be so complicating about telling the information for 3 different console versions of a game? Mistakes are being made everywhere on the internet about it. So maybe there is aircraft in the xbox 360 version, but not the xbox and ps2. The xbox 360 version was supposed to be pretty different. I'm confused now.

haha, the Xbox360 couldn't put out graphics like that if it tried (IMHO)

Anyway, those are pictures of BF2 for the PC. The Battlefield game for the consoles is called Battlefield2: Modern combat and the PC is just BF2. Gamestop always mixes up its pictures on there website, but they keep track of so many games you can't really blame them.

What do you mean? Why the hell wouldn't it? I've played battlefield 2, I have an alienware (no I'm not rich). It's not so great, I don't see anything special about the graphics. The grass doesn't even stay there if you're too far away from it, it just disappears. What's the point of being a sniper if you can't hide in the grass or anything? The gameplay is pretty boring, you barely even see anybody because the maps are so damn huge. The only time you actually have realistic gameplay is on medium maps with 64 people, then it's pretty intense. The xbox 360 is more powerful than the PC so far, and it's possible if you think about it. Check out some of the screen shots for the games, they're amazing, it's better than anything I've seen on any PC game, ever. Sure, the PC might out-run it in a few years, but so far 100 players sounds reasonable. Or atleast 64, like the PC. The microphone is easy to sort out too. It's as simple as having just the squads communicate with each other. If you have the squads with 6 people, then there will be only 6 people talking on the mic. It probably wouldn't lag either since the power of the systems are all the same so it's not like people will be lagging out, and everybody has broadband and above these days. Why is everybody against the next generation consoles anyway? Sure, the business of it all is bullshit, with the increases in the prices just because they can get away with it, but they're not selling a piece of crap. The xbox had some nice parts in it. It had a decent amount of power... it's just that most of the games coming out for it were crap, besides halo one and two. The xbox 360 is going to be even better, and maybe even more powerful than a PC. Sure, there won't be as much customization and such with games, like mods or whatever, but if I buy a game then I buy it to play whatever game it is. I don't know where you get 32 players though, there's probably going to be a dramatic increase in the amount of people able to play online. It can't stay 16 through 24 forever, they're eventually going to increase it to 64, and with the xbox 360, maybe even 100. I think it's totally possible.
