re: headset

Well, I don't have a headset, but everybody who has one says it is just about necessary. Of course, it isn't to have a good time, but I suppose it deepens the social aspects of the game (chatting with friends, etc) and allows more tactical freedom. You should find a high-quality Sony headset on Amazon.com for about $20.00 or less. Good luck, mate!

re: headset

Yeah, mate, good luck with that. I wish I had one, but that would mean too much risk for me.

re: headset

My parents don't enjoy me having war games. That was the reason why my mother threw out my first copy of Battlefield 2: Modern Combat. The only way I can get new games is if I visit my aunt in Dearborn. Buying headset would make them suspicious, especially if they find me talking into one while I'm playing a game.

Yeah, mate, that isn't so bad; tell her that they can't find out anything about you if you don't tell them anything. Besides, it helps you meet new people, and often they can turn into best game-buddies, you know?

re: headset

I have a headset, I managed to get it for $10 (it's a piece of junk, but it works). They're not that great, as I've had people play the SixFlags tune over them, and curse me out. They do have some benefits, as you can hear what other people are planning, and you can share info. Unfortunately, nobody will listen to any orders you give (like telling them to get in your Humvee, or to defend a certain point), so it's pretty useless for strategizing (and I haven't made any friends, even though I'm a pretty nice guy...). Still, if you can find a cheap one (like my $10 one), you might want to get it. I'd gladly be your friend if you get one (or even if you don't), just send a friend request to RaezonAchler.

re: headset

I did have one of the ps2 headsets that you can get for 30 bucks but it broke (one of the wires got disconnected from the circut board and is unfixable.) Anyway thats not the point. The point is that plently of people have headsets online, but they dont use em. People do curse and such, but considering you have to press [] to talk you wont hear that much from them. See you guys online. (I go as well... cold107)

P.S. Getting new headset tonight.

re: headset

May I ask a question?: Once you press [], can you continually talk until you press it again, or do you have to hold [] to talk?
