re: Pro Tour Mode |

Finally, at the beginning of my sixth year I reached no.1 after winning the Australian Open. I reached level 50, so I don't get anymore exp. points. And it seems that I don't get anymore ranking points. I'm stuck at 7050 points.
I'm trying to win all the Smash Pro GP and Gram Slam tournaments, I'm in june now and did win everything so far. Even did I win at Roland Garros, the clay I hate to play on. Does anyone know what happens when you end the year as world no.1? Is the Pro Tour over then?

I'm one tournament away from a Grand Slam. Had a difficult Roland Garros (clay is my poorest surface, apparently) but managed to knock off Leyton Hewitt for the title.
Wimbledon was ridiculous. Round after round I faced pathetic fictional players and ironically, faced Tim Henman in the final. Just to ruin Timmy's dreams, I walloped him 6-0 to add another trophy to the cabinet. It does seem easy now but James Blake still gives me the jitters. I used to think Marat Safin was tough but he's all power and very little in terms of direction. You can slap him on the baseline a few times. Level 44. Yet to lose this season. 3rd in the rankings.

Aye, that video was worth it, though...
"You are amazing!" Taking on the women's circuit. Seems easier this time round. Got 3 of the Grand Slams in the second year. Bottled Roland Garros in the Quarter Finals. Just trying to qualify for the End of year championships.

If you play to the 6th year, your character can start abusing the umpire, providing your ranked no. 1. My character did a rusedski and then at the end of the match, he did a Henman at Wimbledon and told the ball boy to "get your head out of your arse and get my drink". Has this happened to anyone else?

Well after doubting others in this thread, I won the Australian Open in my first year.
Keep in my mind that I had already finished the game a few times. The quarter final always seems to be the toughest game, and was again as I came up against Safin. I literally had to win every point. So although extremely hard it is possible, I went from level 2 to 18 in that tournament. ------------------- ![]() YouTube Click Me

I won everything in my first year (not kidding!). I created Roger Federer and made him a power player, which left his power stat almost A. Then I entered the Australian Open and eased through the qualifiers and the first four rounds (playing guys ranked from 150-40.)Then in the quarters I got Tiger Tim. That was a pretty hard game, which I won because I was able to beat Tim on his service game with some cool passing shots. Then in the semis I pulled up against Lleyton Hewitt (gulp!). The only reason I won this game was that I kept winning on my service game with aces. Then I got to a tiebreak (by the way you can turn them on in options on the main menu) and somehow managed to win it. In the final I got some guy ranked twentieth or something. It was hard but I beat him easy enough. This earned me (woohoo!) 850 experience points which I used to up all Federer's stats, and 1000 ranking points which qualified me for all the smash court thingamajigs. Then I went on a tear and won most of the smash court tourneys up until the french open. This got me loads of experience points which I used to up my meet, power, and topspin (I reccommend that everyone up their topspin, makes things so much more easier). I entered the French open and stayed clear of all pros till the semis this time, coming up against Ferrero. Beat him 5-4 in an absolute thriller by the end of which I had no stamina left. Drew against Blake in the final, and that was an absolute thriller also. He led me 5-1 (not kidding!) I won my first service game--thought everything was fine--and then Blake won the next five games. I aced the next game, taking it to 5-2, then hit one hell of a passing shot to beat him on 40-A to take it to 5-3, then hit three aces in my next service game, and then, in an absolute screamer of a game which must have lasted twenty minutes, I finally beat him with a smash shot after he couldn't get to one of my shots. That made it 5-5. He won the next, and I won my last service game and then beat him in a thrilling tiebreaker--the toughest game I've ever played in any season. That got me more exp points and I used them for power, speed, and meet. Entered Wimbledon (by far my favourite tournament) and got Blake again in the quarters. Absolutely destroyed him 4-1. Because the ball moves much more freely on grass it makes it easier for power players. Got Tiger Tim in the semis (even in the game he falls one hurdle short of the finish!) and beat him 5-2. Got Roddick in the final and hammered him 6-1. Entered the US Open and got Haas in the quarters: 4-0. Gasquet in the semis: 5-2. And Rusty Valdez (?) in the final: 6-0. This completely a remarkable sweep of Grand Slams, and then I won a few more smash court things, and got my ranking to six. This allowed me to enter the big tournament at the end of the year (can't remember it--smash court pro chamionship?)and won it which took my ranking to number one (not kidding!) and then got that video which plays once you've won all the grand slams and become number one. But trust me, this was a one in a million thing, which required a hell of a lot of luck and strategy. I don't think I'd be able to do it again if I tried. Now I have Federer at no.1 and his ranking points at 7850--which is nearly 2000 better off than his nearest rival--Blake 5995+100. And I'm not making any of this up. The only tourney I haven't won is the World Tournament, cuz I'm hopeless at doubles. But I've done everything else.

wow thats pretty good. I play on mission and it makes it much easier rather than to play out the full match. I reckon i could do what u have done if i start another pro tour cos with one guy i created i won the french, wimbledon and US open in the first year and he was an all rounder. Got knocked out in the 4th round in the Australian. For me i'd say it is all down to concentration and desire. If you really focus on every point then anyhting and everything can be achieved. One lapse in concentration brings you down. It certainly is tough when you start out lowly and come up against the seeds and have to "break this love game"! Arrghh that requires concentration and nerve i tell ya.
