Game suggestions... |
|
I'm looking to buy some more N64 games. I went to the store last week and finally picked up Harvest Moon 64 for $30. I have most of the good "popular" games; both Zelda games, Super Mario 64, Donkey Kong 64, Banjo-Kazooie, Banjo-Tooie, Conker's BFD, Goldeneye 007, Paper Mario, all the Pokémon games (besides Hey You, Pikachu!), Perfect Dark, Super Smash Bros., Mario Kart 64, the Mario Party games, and I think that's about it.
Anyone know of some good games, that aren't widely known/popular, that I can go pick up? And I know about Quest 64, I'll probably end up getting that tomorrow or next Thursday. -------------------

I do not see Starfox 64 in your list. You should buy it quickly. There's also Star Wars Rogue Squadron as an alternative airbourne shooter. More freedom but not as action packed.
S.C.A.R.S. is a bit like Mario Kart except racing is a lot better but there's no battle mode. Track design is generally tighter so expect to actually use your brakes to get around corners, and the ability to stack 2 weapons and unleash all manner of hell for high combo attacks is awesome. -------------------

You should try looking out for Star Wars Episode I Pod Racer. It's quite the entertaining little racing game.

Thanks guys, I'll be going tomorrow... probably after work.
Completely forgot about Star Fox 64, I think the store I'm going to actually has that still in it's original box with it's manual for around $15. I'll make a list of the games you guys suggested, see if they have them there. And I'd like to import Sin and Punishment, but I know I won't be able to for awhile yet. -------------------

Finding it might be tough and cost way more than just downloading it on the Virtual Console, since iirc from the Wii Forum, you are buying a Wii soon anyway, haha.

You should check out Mischief Makers. Some love it, some hate it, myself grouping with the former. It's a really obscure game, but it's just so fun.

Holy crap. I picked up Star Wars: Rogue Squadron, and it was actually factory sealed.
Also picked up Quest 64, F-Zero X, Wave Race 64, and Cruisin' USA. Paid about $32 for everything, even after taxes. I'll probably end up going back next week or the week after for some more. -------------------

quote chaosAh yes, good old F-Zero X, the franchise's very first breakthrough in 3D graphics. I should have been the first to suggest it. -------------------

Where's good old Diddy Kong Racing. That's fun till you hit wizpig. I would also recommend Quest 64 for a unique rpg experience. Quest 64 itself has a lot of problems. If you look past them and focus on the battle system. You'll be surprised how fun it can be (but I wouldn't spend more that $10 on this game)

quote DXDI second that one. I picked up this game about a month ago so me and my good friend could play it. She loves it, and is actually really good. I just started playing it alone about 3 days ago, I've completed the story mode, but unlocking all of these racers and getting lap and course records is so fun and challenging. Great game, totally worth the $3 I paid for it at Play N Trade. Can you believe it? Such a great game for such a low price?! ------------------- If life were made to be easy, I'd have gotten laid by now.

Recently I picked up one that I have never heard of,
Goemon's Great Adventure. It is a 2D-ish- 3D-ish side scrolling platformer. Sort-of like the Kirby one. Except when going around in the towns which gives you an RPG feeling. There are two Goemon games out for the N64. The other one plays like Mario 64. I prefer this side scroller. It is so much more enjoyable to me. ------------------- ![]() ![]()
