I agree, great movie. Especially the slow motion scenes, when the Spartans were tearing apart the enemies. The one thing I hated about it was that villain, who they made to look like he was about 9 feet tall. It made me so sick when the spear Leonidas threw at the end just nicked him. I wanted to see that thing go right through him.

Grindhouse looks pretty cool. I actually was going to go see it last weekend, but something came up. Also, it might be difficult to sit still for over 3 hours watching a movie. Anyway, I take it you saw it, Rue? I heard that it only made about $5 million opening weekend. Pretty disappointing.

I liked it when I first saw it. But now - not saying that it's bad, but it's overrated.

From what I hear, it's basically an homage to those bad 70's exploitation movies. It's two movies shown in a row, but for one price. The 2 movies together add up to more than 3 hours, which is probably the main reason it's doing bad at the box office. But then again, King Kong and Star Wars 3, two movies I didn't care for much, were both very long and made a killing. Go figure.
