Moosetwik, there is a problem with MC III, not in the game itself, but in the inability to remember specific races. In a game like GTA, where you meet specific characters, have specific tasks to perform, and the missions all have a name, it is easy to remember what you need to do to pass a particular mission.
In Midnight Club I and II it was also easier to remember specific races, because you had a shitload of comical characters, and each of them had a few races. So, you could say, for exampole, "Hey I am racing Slavo, the World Champion and I just can't beat race #2!! To further complicate things, a lot of the "tracks" (for lack of a better word (or courses) are repeated with different racers. The fact is that I beat the PS2 version of MC III and am about 55% complete in the XBox version, and to be quite honest, I have NO specific recollection of Tuner race # 10. If you can reload the race and tell me what track it is, I can try to find one of the random street races and play it so that I can give you some tips on the specific race. You can find the course name as it is loading up, and I think it may also be in the map when you hit select in the middle of the race, but I am not sure. ------------------- ![]() It's official. I belive he means the Tuner Racing Club. The 10th race. I know this isn't what you wanted to hear, but if it has lots of sharp turns, try and buy a car with good handling in your vehicle class. If you really do not want to buy a new car, quit this race, and try and win some more cars from other races.

Dude, as I said already, TELL ME WHAT RACE it is (the name of the course I mean). I will load up my 100% Save, play it with whatever vehicle you have and post some tips and maybe a walkthrough on it when I beat it.
I need the EXACT vehicle you are driving and the name of the course. You can see it on the loading screen, but "Tuner Race 10" unfortunately tells me nothing in this game. I need a course! Also I need to know how many Nitrous charges you have in the car, so I don't win the race with more charges than you have access to. ------------------- ![]() It's official. Thats because every lap you complete refils you nitrous.

re: Tuner Race 10 Help |

Okay the first thing is your Nitrous Charges. They are regenerating because this is a multi lap race, three to be exact. So after every lap (the green marker signals the beginning of the next lap) your Nitrous regenerates. This means it is a GOOD idea to make sure you use both charges (plus whatever slipstreams you can bumb off the other cars) before the end of each lap, or they sort of go to waste.
Anyway, I just booted up my PS2 with my 100% save and purchased the 350Z. Unfortunately, this game DOES NOT allow me to upgrade to Level I parts only, as it will ONLY sell me level II parts. Rather than buy the higher end performance upgrades than you have, I opted to go with no upgrades at all. Otherwise I would be giving you advice for a far better car than you have access to. So I only have one Nitrous Charge, where you would have two. I will try to write the Walkthrough for you assuming you have two for each lap, even though I only have one. Anyway, as soon as I booted up and bought your car, I beat the race pretty quick in Arcade mode, even with only one Nitrous, so I assure you it is very doable. I will write this walkthrough for you one checkpoint at a time. The only way I can do that is to replay the race again now, only I will pause it at each checkpoint to write the instructions for handling the course, driving tips, strategies, braking and use of Nitrous. Oh and remember you have three laps! So that means you will have to do EVERYTHING I write in this walkthrough three times to win the race. I probably will not win this race, because I will be distracted, pausing so I can write the Walkthrough, but obviously that doesn't matter, right? lol Okay off we go! Checkpoint I: You start out on a one block Straighaway. So do a burnout and you should take off ahead of your competitors right off! If not, you are not doing the Burnout correctly! I usually try to let go of R1 when the timer counts to 1, JUST before it changes to "Go!" Notice you have a soft left (bearing left) turn after that checkpoint. You should not be going fast enough yet to need to powerslide on this one. Make your soft left and head down a straight block to Checkpoint II, which will be a little to your right if you are in the middle of the street. Take note of this because you will be making another soft turn (this time a right) which is foreshadowed by the placement of that checkpoint. This turn will be a little bit harder, because you are entering a little street-Tunnel that runs between two buildings. I would gently tap the handbrake (R1) as you take this turn and guide the car to your right, passing through the tunnel. I also restarted to test something else. You actually don't need the handbrake if you are decent at turning on this one, but whatever works for you. SCRIPTED EVENT WARNING: On the way to your 2nd checkpoint, take note, there seems to usually be a Bus that will be on YOUR left so be prepared. I restarted it a couple of times just to see and sure enough it was there every time, so stay to your right! After hitting checkpoint II, proceed through the tunnel. Now you will take the next two fairly easy ones with a sort of wide, clockwise series of easy turns, which are all in the path of a semi circular road. At the last of these checkpoints you will be making a HARD right just in front of a store called "Atlanta". Now the good news is that this little car handles like crap (well not really, it isn't all that bad even with only level 0) but it powerslides pretty nice actually. Try to hit the R1 button just before the end of the block, hit it hard and push the analog stick to the right and hopefully you will do a nice, clean, 90 degree turn. YOu may need to practice this. TRY NOT to land in the parking lot of the Atlanta store. It will NOT make you crash or anything, but your AI opponents will be right on your ass and will handle that turn pretty adeptly, so you should as well. (Note: I wanted to see something for checkpoints 2-4 so I restarted a few times. Sure enough, the only pitfalls here are going to be traffic. Get used to slowing down a tad and weaving, because these roads are narrow, and sure enough, on restarts to experiment, I got knocked out of 1st place pretty quickly when not navigating well through this little series, so be warned) Checkpoint 5 is at the end of a long stretch on this road. Now there are two ways you can get to this one, I tried them both and I believe the little shortcut might save you a fraction of a second, but use your own judgment. 1. You can stay straight on this road you turned on after checkpoint 5 and crash through the gate, or you can... 2. Veer a little to your right around those weird looking, Phallic post thingy's. I think 2 is a tad quicker, but not enough to stress out over. Try both, see what works for ya! Stay on this road to get to 6. Right before hitting Checkpoint 6, do a daring poweslide to your right (similar to what you did at Checkpoint 5, which should land you right on the road in the direction you need to be going) and head to 7, which should now be directly in your path. After this checkpoint you should ABSOLUTELY take this shortcut: Intuitively you will want to go left, around the bend to get to 8. DON'T!! There is a nice little zig zag that is pretty easy to negotiate, which takes you right through the Apartment complex. This is a GREAT time to use a Zone to! If you cannot see it (it is well hidden) just drive STRAIGHT through the checkpoint (7) and if you were goind straight down the road into the point and keep going, you should be between the buildings, which is where you want to be! Be warned! This is a GREAT shortcut but it is also a dangerous one! You may need to practice it a few times, but I assure you its WELL WORTH IT! After you get through the Aparment complex, make a hard left powerslide, and slow down just a tad, because you are going to need to go around the RED Brick building on the left side (keep it to your right). Beware there is a hilly, grass area so you may need to let off the accelerator a little to not flip over or lose control! Also another potential hazard is coming out of the shortut so fast you slam into the back of the red building and take yourself out of the race since you have to now reorient yourself. So slow down a little as you emerge from the Apartment complex shortcut! Another left turn and you are finally at Checkpoint 8, 9, 10 and 11! Ten is down the road a-piece! lol Tactics for Checkpoints 8-11: you will be going around what is probably a familiar oval road (checkpoints 8-10 so you know). Now beware! There is usually a lot of traffic around this little oval road so you may want to have a Zone or two handy! After Checkpoint 10 you will come to number 11 (the last checkpoint before the end of the lap, or the end of the race if you are on the third lap. Now here is an AMAZING shortcut that most of your AI opponents will probably NOT take! I want you to make a soft left as you hit 11, and go through a back alley. There will be a colorful chicken joint (red and green) to your left and a blue wall to your right. The trees are not solid here so plow right through them! Now to get to the end or the beginning of the lap you will need to fly through this area and hit the checkpoint at a diagonal angle (keeping another red brick building to your left). The VERY GOOD news is that you will only have to slightly adjust your direction as you head through this green point. Nitrous use! I didn't put a Nitrous usage in the walkthrough, but instead I will give you some places you might want to use them 1. You may want to blow one right off as you start taking off the starting line, but beware of the dangers. 2. Another place you may choose is after Checkpoint 4 (assuming you break through the gate and NOT try to negotiate the mini shortcut through that little park!) 3. If youb are confident of your ability to handle the shortcut through the Apartment complex, then blow one right after you hit checkpoint 6 on that little mini straightaway! 4. Dangerous but fun in a pinch! lol You can blow a Nitrous through that little oval turn and the walls of buildings on your right should keep you from flipping over! 5. RIGHT before hitting the Green checkpoint blow one! Hey you will be going realy fast through that last checkpoint of the lap, and you are about to refill, so why have one left, right? By the way, NOT that it matters, but I won the "Walkthrough Race" even with all the pauses to write this walkthrough! lol I rock!
